Default tC Car Cover

Sup guys...I need some opinions on the car cover option at the dealership. Is it worth it? Or is it even wise to put a car cover? Would it do damage to the paint in the long run of using it? The reason I'm asking for opinions is because there's no room in our garage for cars and since my car is a BSP...you can easily tell that it's dusty/dirty. I was wondering if getting a car cover is worth it to just keep my car clean as possible? OR simply just buy a canopy? So I can put my car under it....a canopy can also reduce the heat from the beating sun of Southern Cali. Opinions, feedbacks, and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

i would only put on a car cover if ur car is going to be sitting outside for a long time- like a few days or weeks. if not, i wouldnt worry about it. it would be a hassle putting on and taking off a car cover everyday. but my baby is garage parked so i dont have to worry about that

a canopy would be less of a hassle if you are worried about the sun

I bought the car cover b/c my garage is a dangerous place with my sister going in and out of it daily...(dont ask) . But the car cover fits nice, 3 layers, comes in a nice carrying bag and has a window for your rear plate incase your state req's it for parking. I got mine from scionpartspeople for 160ish i think.

Thanks for the feedbacks...even though there's only 2 hehe but thanks. I'm leaning towards the canopy now since it would also block the sunlight...it really gets hot here during the summer. Plus, I don't think I'll be using a car cover when parking in a lot...it's another reason punks would wanna mess with my car.

I have one for my 06 TC and I don't know what I would do without it. I leave my car in the yard alot and there is a tree that drops all kinds of crap on my car. With the cover I don't worry about it anymore . It protects the car well even in the rain .

I have one myself......couldn't fit any better than it does. ...Hugs the car really well but the only hassle for me taking it on and off is not actually putting it on....i have to remove my antenna because there is no hole in the car cover for the antenna to pass trough....the other day i forgot to put my antenna back on lol and was driving around the whole day without it ahaha...anways i do think it's a good purchase and it take like 3-5 min to fullly strap it on your car. I also have a tree along the driveway that drops all kinds of debri on my car and thats why i got a cover because as long as it takes me to wash my tC i want it to stay clean ya know........Canopy or Car Cover just get one either or is well wort it man......good luck to you and your tC driving days....

I'm really considering getting one because I get tired of having to wash my car so often. One day after washing, I have a very dusty car... every other black car I see on the street has this nice gloss to it because it's parked underground. That's why the car cover is a better alternative.... the dust up here in the California valley is ridiculous and a canopy wouldn't stop that.

Default Cover for the snow

I noticed a lot of people talking about the cover for protection from the sun, dust, and debris but I was wondering how it holds up to ice and snow. I'm in Blacksburg VA and winter is about to hit and I want to try to protect my car as much as possible. It parks in a open lot on my campus so the struggle to take on and off isn't a big deal.
Also, I've looked into ordering a custom cover and some websites claim that there cover will help against dents from car door bangs. Anyone know if the one from the dealership helps with this? Or maybe against dumb people running into you in a parking lot and driving off. (Yes this just happened to me, what fun!)
