Just thinking (again) about a new CF (OEM style) hood.
I have only seen one or two in person, so who do you guys/gals thinks makes the best products?
Not looking for the cheapest, but the nicest quality.
I don't want to put one on unless it looks/fits great.

seibon from what i've seen makes very good ones, for the most part VIS makes good ones as well, but i've heard some horror stories

 

I see the seibon guys are off until the 20th - does anyone have pix of their hoods on a tC?

I'm going to agree with brian and whocares, Vis and Seibon are both going to be real high quality.

I don't any pics for you though.

 

seibon is going to be your best bet.


VIS now uses a larger pattern on their hoods and it doesnt look as nice anymore

 

Anyone have pix of those? The ones they posted kinda suck.

 

are there any that retain the use of windshield washer nozzles?

Most of the guys I've talked to said they don't come with nozzle holes, but can be done easily.
I wish they'd do them in the hood without drilling tho.

do u kno if the VIS hood is 2x2? idk if thats how it goes, but i think a buddy of mine was tryin to explain that o me, kinda made sense, he said that theres 1x1 that a lot of companys use and then theres 2x2 and 3x3. if its 2x2 i might be interested in the VIS hood...

 

My Motor-FX hood kinda had that. The fiberglass backing had to be drilled through but the C/F didn't. The spots for the nozzles was left open when the C/F was layed down over the fiberglass.

 

I don't mind having to drill for a really great hood.
Problem is, a lot of those I've seen pix of here have crappy gaps, and frankly, make the "upgrade" a net loss IMO.

 

i just recently got the Seibon OEM style CF hood and i love it.


before ordering, i had it down to VIS and Seibon. it was a very difficult decision for myself, but ended up going w/ Seibon and don't regret a thing. if you go with any, buy it from www.showstoppersusa.com. FREE shipping and $450 for either the VIS or Seibon.

I think that was a sale they were running awhile back, so they're back to the old prices now. Which sucks because I was going to buy one.

 

hmm...i guess call them and find out if the sale is still applicable. this sale was only available for SL members. i ordered mine last week of Dec 2006.

 

oh really? I should contact them, I already bought my Injen CAI and Tanabe Exhaust from them, so they should let me get them for $450 even if that sale is over lol. Thx for great info!
