Default TC doors

Has anyone noticed how heavy the TC doors are and how they just flap open? I already had to leave 2 notes on people's cars for leaving a mark on their doors. Is there something I can do to the door edges to keep them from denting or leaving paint marks on people's cars?

thanks,

I say go for the gold trim! kidding of course. if you put some of that rubber stuff on, I wanna see how it looks, I have a strange thought in my mind that it wouldn't look as bad as most people think...

Rockblocker sells a clear side door protection. Might want to look into that. Protects your paint and likely the other paint (not against dents though).

I have these things called ARMS that I use to slow down the movement of the doors.

The tC (or mine atleast) stops in the middle, and then when it is fully open....the middle stop works for me, I just squize in the car.

I like the fact that they're heavy, makes me feel safe. And indeed the tC does have a 4-star side impact rating.

thanks,
HOLD THE DOOR HANDLE WHEN YOU OPEN THE DOOR.

We do have super long doors, though. I always have to squeeeeeze out with the door part way open.

There's more than one reason I try to park away from everyone else!

be careful on windy days, its really bad then if the wind catches the heavy door.

How does the door roadblocker stuff work? Im so tired of people slamming into my door, I have marks on the middle of both sides. The touch up paint makes it look pretty fugly.

let me tell you, the heavy doors and wind do not mix... I was at the car wash vacuuming my car, before I went in... and they have the vacuum mounted on a 3 ft high concrete stand.... and I park my car just enough to open my passenger door half way from full... so and then while I’m vacuuming the wind comes and takes my door and slams the edge of it into the concrete... I have a 1.5 inch vertical line at the edge of my door with no paint; I need to get it fixed before the exposed metal starts to rust....

the doors are so heavy, i don't know how you could accidently have it open into something...unless you really weren't paying attention.
i don't park by anyone, so i don't dont have to worry about opening my door into someone.
although i'm carefull when i open the door at the gas station.
good for you for leaving notes, i'm surprised people are that honest still

well the door does stop half way but if i accidently touch it while i'm exiting it just flaps open like it was pushed open with force
anyways none of the people i left notes for called me i guess they can just remove my paint off their doors and they'll be fine.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I'll go check out those rubber edges, I had them on my Z and they worked great but they came with the car as part of the protection package

Yep.... They're heavy.... and LONG..... I get a little worried about the hinges becuase of how it can open quickly to full extension and bounce back.
