How about some carbon kevlar doors to go with verticle doors so we don't to worry about sagging fenders... =D

Are vertical doors proven to cause this sagging? Is it on all cars or just the tC? What do the manufacturers say about this? Seems that at least Vertical Doors claims it's 100% safe to install...

Default tC Door Noise

Sorta OT, but it relates to the topic name...Does anyone else's door make a strange hollow thunking sound when they close it kinda hard? I was surprised by the noise because they are rather heavy. I am going to add a few layers of sound deadening to them regardless, but I was curious if this is common to all tCs or just mine.

Is This what the note you left read "Iam soooo sorry about your door dent man.. You see I have these long heavy door and couldn't control it. I hope everything works out good getting your door fixed. I done this to sooo many cars already, but I'd like to say to you just like all the others .. Iam really sorry "

thanks,
i like heavy doors, feels more solidly built (or full of all kinds of crap?).

Its not the long heavy doors that bug me, its the fact that they swing wide open. My 350Z had long heavy doors and I never had that problem. I'm getting used to grabing the door before it swings wide open now so its all good.

i don't park by anyone, so i don't dont have to worry about opening my door into someone.
although i'm carefull when i open the door at the gas station.
good for you for leaving notes, i'm surprised people are that honest still

well the door does stop half way but if i accidently touch it while i'm exiting it just flaps open like it was pushed open with force
anyways none of the people i left notes for called me i guess they can just remove my paint off their doors and they'll be fine.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I'll go check out those rubber edges, I had them on my Z and they worked great but they came with the car as part of the protection package
I could see that... Are you exceptionally tall, or just a big guy? I know that some of the taller people on Scion Life have said they have problems getting in and out of the tC.

I'm a small guy, and I'm not kidding when I say I squeeze out of the car when I park next to someone!

Try some scratch remover on your doors to cover the damage, or if the paint's actually flaked off, use a toothpick to apply some touch-up paint, then go over it with a rubbing compound and wax when it's dry.

I like the weight of the doors. Makes me feel safe. I rented a Corolla while my tC was having some work done, and it felt like a death trap.

And seriously... Yeah.

That's right. And I must say that was the best hand job I've ever had! Sorry, I had to!

My Z28 had the biggest heaviest doors ever so the tC was a nice change of pace for me.

I have trouble getting my feet out of the door when it is only halfway open. I have to
do this weird half turn and pull my foot far enough back so that I can get out without scuffing up my shoes or the door sill. It's a pretty minor complaint. I've driven cars that had doors so flimsy a light wind would smack it back at you. The problem with heavy doors is if a wind hits them, they frickin' hurt. During some wind gusts during hurricane Wilma, I had the door flip back and slam my leg so hard it went numb. I guess the only fix would be a sliding door like in a minivan.

I've had all 4-door cars before - used to lighter doors. Yeah it's a minor issue.
