Default tC and g35 = twinsies

I posted this briefly in another topic but thought it was noteworthy enough to start a new one.

I was looking over that yahoo article about the top 10 coupes and I realized JUST HOW MUCH the Infiniti G35 coupe looks like our babies - the tC!

People keep asking me what my car looks like and now I think I can finally say that the closest car it is similar to in shape is the G35.

Especially on these two pics, I think the similarity is crazy!

I think it's great that the tC resembles a car twice its price so much!

actually if anything here is how i'd compare it

rear tail lights look like a 2003 + tiburon.

the front headlights look like the new bmw 5 series headlights.

The area between the headlights looks like a nissan sentra.

If looking at the headlights from directly ahead, reminds me of the new accord.

Over all body style it can look like many things.

I have thought so many new accords were the TC. But there is a resemblance from the side with that car.

I dont really see the resemblence (sp?) with the accord, personally.

the side resemblence with the G35 is very pronounced, i would have to agree!

the front looks Volvo S60 with BMW 7style headlights.

you can see some R34 in the front bumper too.

the overall dimensions are very RSXish

the rear, im still debating about...

this is the problem i have with the tc.

it wants to be so many other cars and not have its own identity.
i wish it had a unique style that didn't look like a dozen other cars...

That may be true. However, car owner tend to compare our car to others. Nowaday, many cars look like many others. For example, benz C class's rear look like a civic. I think what distinguish our tC from the crowd is that we have an all glass roof with two paronama moonroofs. How many car out there has it? Targa?

Mercury Cougar. I've never heard anyone else compare the looks of the tC to the cougar, but really, it's true. Don't compare individual spots, just the overal look. I swear to dog they're very similar.

I'll probably get flamed for comparing the "sacred" tC to the "lowly" Cougar.....

i agree with the benz and civic tail lights, when i first saw them i thought someone put a body kit on a civic.

the glass roof is not a style but more of a feature (how much different is it from a metal roof? does it have a diff. shape? a crease? a scoop?)

i know it is scions first car (the xa and xb are rebadged toys) but i was hoping for a stronger brand identity (read different from others)
i don't want people seeing a scion and something else as being simalar.

yea definitly in person if we saw the tc next to the g35 it would look very stubby. The g35 is a lot longer and lower to the ground

Yeah... I guessss you can compare the body styles... well, look at this way, the G35 has a hundred and one little pieces that break off, or stop functioning properly... while Scion is reliable and high qual... knock on wood

The side windows are a dead ringer for the 645i. The car even has hockey stick-shaped bit at the rear of the side windows. I like it- it looks just as sexy on a tC as it does on the Bimmer.

I hat to say this, but, the rear lights do look an awful lot like the Saturn Ion Coupe's. I keep seeing Saturns and getting excited because I think it's a tC.

sorry but its no where near the G35, thats the problem....
On paper it looks like the G35, but when you put them together in person, the G35 wins in shape.....

^^Troll

Anyways,

Alot of cars look similar these days. I parked next to my friends white G35 and it's hard to tell them apart from the side profile. A couple of people also commented as such, including a bunch of salesmen from a Honda dealer. I've also gotten comparisons to the Tiburon, the Saturn Ion, Bangled BMWs(that's not necessarily a good thing), and one person thought it can pass for a Mercedes model.

However, all of them said it was a best value buy given the sticker price.

So now Inifiniti is poor quality and not reliable? The tC also has 101 little pieces that can break off. I can very easily see the sunroof shades breaking and the stereo cover breaking off, neither of these can be found on the G35.
