Default tC insurance rant !

I posted when i frst got my tC about cheaper insurance. turns out my allstate rep was wrong then, or is wrong now. I called up last friday to confirm that my new tC was insured and to get the 6 month $$$ amount. The lady on the phone told me it would be $630 for 6 months. I got ____ed at that point because i'm married, have no points (that they know about), am over 25, no accidents in the last 6 years and my WRX only costs $550 for 6 months. I asked her how a car that's $9,000 cheaper and has the entire interior covered by airbags, has a chip in the key to prevent theft etc can be $20 extra each month. She had no answers and got nasty with me.... all she could tell me was the collision was $100 extra alone for 6 months. Friggin BS Now i have to call back on tuesday to get anothe rperson on the phone. Insurance ____es me off.

You do not have to stay with the same insurance carrier.

My insurance is half of that and I am using Progressive.

Just FYI, out of the 3 tC we have sold everyone of the people were insured for amounts lower than they expected. The average so far has been just below $600 for 6 months. And every person has been under the age of 26. Two even finaced with ALL STATE!

right now i have 3 cars, a house and jewelry insured through them, so that includes a nice discount. Seems like everytime i get a new car i have to switch carriers, it's such a PITA.

Especially when i KNOW they're wrong.

Does not seem like much of a discount. I am 27 and my wife 24 and we pay just over $600 for full coverage on 2 cars, a 2003 Civic EX coupe and a 2005 Scion TC.

depends on where you live..i live north of the armpit of the east coast (philly) so i pay extra for the 50% of fools in the city that don't have insurance. one of the myriad of reasons we're moving next year.

I had Allstate a long time ago leave them asap.......mann my whole famly was in allstate to get a group disscount because we had the house on the insurance too and like 5 cars for 4 people.............we left them and I dont remmber how much the house insurane was but it was a differance and so were all the cars. Go shop around we ended up with Mercury.....there not bad but then I left there because I wanted to be on my own insurance beside that when I was rearended (so it was not my fault) they really didnt treat me all that well......really it was one of the brokers helper that was a B**CH

Yes I pay about 120 bucks more every 6 for being on my own, but customer service goes a long way with me(NO I dont want to be trearted like king) but with respect its not like I go in there walking around like a d**k or anything.

i don't know the details, but something needs to be done in the insurance industry when your yearly insurance payments exceed the payments on the car you're insuring.

Man, you guys think you have it bad for insurance......the cheapest premium I could find was $1100 every 6 months, and that was with State Farm. I guess that's what we get for living in New Mexico where half the drivers are drunk and the other half are illegal immigrants....

Interesting. My current insurance payment for my '04 Matrix XR is $154 monthly for full coverage. I called my agent and they said that when I buy my tC that I can just transfer my policy over, and since the value of the two cars are roughly the same the premium would stay at $154. I'm not really sure what that comes out to annually but I think that's a pretty damn good price for a 21-yo male in Cali!

I know what you're talking about
My Lexus is300's and S2000's insurance are THE SAME as my Scion xB
I mean wtf is that?
Two cars that has value more than $30k has the same insurance rate with my cheap scion xB?
That's bs
