Xa = Ist
tC = USDM design build in japan.
Echo = Vitz
Also, if Toyota were to try and compete in the type-r class i think they would fail, especially with the tC. The tC chasis isn't designed for something like this, just rebadging wouldn't solve the weight problem. The 2az is too heavy on the front end to compete with a type-r. Type-r's are built almost 100% on performance, the parts that are not made for performance you don't really notice it. The Acura Type-r was kind of a joke. It stood barely any chance with honda's type r's, i've seen a video in japan where they took a usdm type-r (acura) and their integra type-r and compared. While the version we got was better than the gs-r, to me it was a waste of money.
Back to the tC platform. If Toyota wants to do it right, they will either start from scratch or pick another car to design from. It makes no sense to do this on the tC unless they do some serious changes including taking that heavy moon roof out and have no glass up there at all, that would help a little but theres so many things to improve on the tC before they do something like this. Not to mention, if they managed to succeed in doing this i could see the price not very friendly.
