Default tC Repair Advice

So I bought my tC a month ago and I LOVE it!

Only crappy part is that a month ago I was in a fender bender and banged up my front bumper and left fender. The damage isnt that bad...but both will need replacing. I am not as "informed" with stuff when it comes to cars....so doesn anyone have any suggestions? Should I get factory parts or go with a body kit? Anyone have any idea what this would cost or where i could find the parts? I am not going through insurance becuase those jerks will raise my rates in a hearbeat, I would rather just pay out of pocket!!!

HELP!!!

Well since the car is so new, you're not going to find aftermarket replacements for the OEM parts and you're unlikely to find used fenders unless someone put on a replacement and is trying to sell theirs - I think if you want to get the OEM parts, your choice is the dealer - it's going to be quite spendy after paint matching. For front bumper and left fender plus install and bodywork... I dunno... probably 600-800 bucks.

On the other hand, if you're thinking about going with a bodykit, now is a great time to do it. You can think of yourself as just part of the way to the kit. You might still need to replace the left fender though, so it's going to be a ton of money if you go the whole body kit, plus fender, plus paint, depending on your setup, you're easily talking over a grand, probably more like 1500+.

Sorry about that man - that's an expensive accident.

GO get OEM, and DO do some research on what paint shops bite and which ones are good.
LExus dealers are almost a shoe in for great paint work but at too high a cost for out of pocket...

Not the same part of the car, but my rear bumper + paint and matching + install ran around $700. It will vary by geography as well. Mine was repaired in Minneapolis. This may give you a reference point on cost anyway.

I paid $850 to get my entire front fascia replaced and painted + a left headlight enclosure all together. I'd say your best bet is letting a body shop with a good rep get you the parts.... You can get the parts at the same cost they pay though at www.scionpartspeople.com and surf the collision catalog..:
