hey tc owners, whats your rpms at 80 mph?

 

I am taching (is that a word?) at 3000 RPM

 

I wouldnt know. I dont drive 80 EvAr

 

3000 is about right.

 

Yeah I never drive that slow either, plus you taking about AUTO or Standard, and I take it if you mean standard you'd like it for 5th gear, cause I often get up there in low forth...I mean I know someone who does but 3000-3500 sounds right for 5th

You guys must all be autos...

I know at 74mph (cruise control for 65mph zone) it's about 3300... and I did the math once to calculate that every 100rpms is 2mph... so I'd say 3600 would be 80mph using that logic.

I think what I did was...

top speed rpm - current speed rpm = difference
6250-3300 = ~3000...

Well the car can go a little over 53mph faster... so take 3000/53 = 56 rpms per each mph... so 6mph faster would be roughly 300 more rpms... 3600

 

Right at 3670 RPM at 80 mph. That is straight from a log file I took with my scan tool.

 

What exactly is the point of this thread?
