Default TC Slow?

I've had my tc since Sept, and i have almost 8000 miles on it and my car seems like it keeps getting slower and slower. Is this happening to anyone else?

it's called Human Adaptation - time to get forced induction

read up on it, it's a truthful thing, and really interesting - why do you think your computer feels SOOO fast when you get it, then "man, this is loading forever... god my internet is slow... I thought cable was supposed to be fast?" etc etc - speed is addicting... oh man, I just thought of the perfect signature and something to answer your question....

get some more mods. if you feel the same thing coming on again in the future you're gonna get mod-itis... where u keep modding and modding and modding.... to satisfy your need for speed forced induction is the way to go

Drive someone elses slow car for a while. Cheaper than a performance mod and definitely makes you feel the speed when you come back.

SO TRUE, i mean i used to drive a old and slow 92' Honda Accord, then when i started driving the tC, it felt so fast and powerful! Today, I drive my tC as usual and it does feel slow to me once in a while but then i realized the human adaptation thing.

Try going from an Evo (my old car) to a tC. It's so damn rough lol.

it happens...you just get so used to your car that it feels slow

also, over time, through friction, your car loses horsepower
but i do not think that is the case for you

like everyone says just try a slower car for a day or of course some mods

I am the owner of an xB and tC, when I drive the tC for the first time in a week I want go to out and race but after a couple days I have no problem calming down. I just feel like the tC has SO much more potential on the top end.

Drive a VTEC-less Civic, then go back to the tC. You'd be amazed at how fast your tC is.

Yea its probably me. My friend just got his gsr-t out of the shop getting tuned and we have been driving around in that so my car seems really slow compared to that

But seriously, I have 15000 miles on my car now and it's learning my driving preferences pretty well. My tC holds 3rd gear alot longer when I'm accelerating and willingly downshifts when I'm trying to pass on highways. I suppose how you drive the car does matter quite a bit in this case.

being used to your car will make it seem slower, that happened to me on my CBR and it did 11 second 1/4 miles, there will never be a car or anything "fast enough" for me and many others but i think your car is fine also the synthetic oil can help performance as far as hp and gas mileage, anytime you reduce friction on a motor it will increase performance, but it will not be very much, maybe not even noticeable, i would say its time for you to start upgrading some parts, the intake is the cheapest and probably best thing to do for under 500 bucks, also if you have an automatic i would put a superchip or some other brand HP chip in it, i had one before in my 350 lowrider and noticed a huge change

Doesn't the car's computer adapt to the drivers driving habits?

things like environment and perspective also come into play. if you're on a wide open freeway with not much around you, you'll get the illusion that you aren't moving that fast.

hit some narrow, winding roads, and build a relationship with the tC's handling characteristics. you'll be suprised at how much you appreciate that availible torque.
