I knew one person who owned a spec package.

it was owned by a girl and had no intentions of modding anything on it, left completely stock.

I've never seen a modified spec out in the real world, but I've seen a couple rolling on hubcaps.

Scion's spec concept = fail.

MY PERFECT Spec Package (aka TRD Edition) would have:

TRD Springs
TRD Rear Sway
TRD Supercharger
Enkei 18s (the RS 1.0 type)
CF Appliques
tC Door Sills

Of course this defeats the purpose of a 'cheaper' version, but its nice to dream, ain't it?

Thats probably the direction they should have gone. Maybe also with some other things like:

TRD LSD
Grippier seats
Factory Carbon Fiber or Fiberglass solid roof with solid headliner
Different gearing (to match the supercharger and reduce wheelspin)
Different guages (like white faced possibly)
Different color selection
Factory HID (I know, I know, were getting to dreamland!)
Boost guage

Just some (possibly misguided ) ideas!

I saw one at a Lot (some ghetto Lot with Dubs on pretty much every car there) near the Target I shop at for....$16,999!!
It was an 'o5!!

Toyota/Scion should have sold the Spec for less. I mean, for roughly $1500 more I can get a fully loaded tC? Which would you take?

...I don't think the spec was out in 05. I believe the first year for it was 07.

I wanted a tc spec when I was out looking for my tc. Went to like 3 different dealership they all say their wasn't one within a 100 mile radius that has a manual transmission. I don't think Scion even put good effort into make the tc spec grow.

That's why I put the " " in there! They didn't come out until 'o7.

Never seen one on the road. I think the options that the tC comes with are more valuable than the price difference between the tC and Spec tC.

I disagree. There are things that you can't just replace. For example. I wanted a tc but I didn't want an opening roof, I was actually going to wind up goin with the Subbie Impreza 2.5i until I heard about the spec. A lot of the features they took out, I personally couldn't care about either. Some say its not a good value but to some, like me, it is. It all comes down to personal needs and preferences.

Well I'm just gonna voice my opinion on this matter.

Some people (not everyone) actually like the minor details that the spec package offers.

1. I hate sun/moon roofs since I never use it. I don't want extra mechanical stuff over my head. And I don't have to worry about it messing up since... it's not there.
2. I didn't like the chrome trim around the gril, so it's nice that it's all black. (Think VRD...)
3. I upgraded my wheels. I don't really care for the stock 17s.
4. I never use cruise control.
5. I like the black internal eyelid as opposed to the titanium on the headlights.

But the big thing for me still is the removal of the mechanical sun/moonroof.

Again this is just my "personal preference" and I think everyone should be given choices. I am in no way saying this is what everyone wants. It is just what I like.

Again, I'm just voicing an opinion and preferences. I just want to make that clear.

I've only seen 1 Spec tC and that was at a little get together at the Elk Grove Scion dealership in CA.
