Default TC Trade IN Value for XB

Ok I have made up my mind on trading my 05 BSP TC 5spd for an 06 Camo XB, I have gone to about 10 different dealers today and have all kinds of different responses and appraisal values. I have had trade in values from $12,500 to $15,700 (at Scion dealers) and Ive also had an appraisal at a Dodge Dealership for a $19,600!! Anyway I want an XB so what I am trying to find out is if anyone traded there TC's in at Scion dealerships and what did you get for them with how many miles. Thanks, I am posting this in TC General and XB General for quick feedback.

I am sure there are some people in your area on this site who wants to trade in their xb for a tc. Maybe you can work something out.

I think you're making a mistake too. You'd be downgrading a good bit of horsepower by going to the xB. But the xb's are nice ... just the one I test drove didn't feel like it had any power. But that's just my .02.

I sure hope you have test driven an xB before you trade in your TC.

Man-O-Man did that thing not respond when I floored it(auto tranny).

thought about doing the same thing awhile back. Decided to keep the tC, good color choice on the xB though, Not sure if they still make those

Not a mistake. If I had to get rid of one of my scions the tC would probably be the one.

The xB is vastly easier to get in and out of, has a more upright and comfortable riding position, gets better mileage, and is more handy for hauling stuff. The interior acoustics are also superior to the tC, and it just has more personality.

And for the people that say it doesn't respond: in top-gear acceleration of 50 to 70, as tested by Car and Driver, the xB is faster than the tC.

So there!

I am taking my TC to a local dealer who gave me a sight unseen value of 15k. They said they would be within 100 when I bring it in. I go today. If you want I can post what they tell me. I plan to get an 06 TC however, so I can get it clear bra'd day one. These cars should have a factory option of a clear bra by 3m.

yes, me too. i could barely get it to spin the tires on wet rocks with the traction control turned off. flooring it from 20 mph in an automatic results in a little more noise and nothing else. my 97 corolla is faster

well thats an auto for ya.... my xb will spin the tires all day on dry blacktop....its almost hard not to spin the tires the fluner has so much torque.

YEAH....I'm sure of that The TC is as much a chick car as an xB is a Toaster Oven.

Tongue

That has got to be about the funniest thing I've read all day. I'm sure you were just joking though. Cause it's going to take about 3G and a turbo kit later to be AS fast as a stock TC in that thing. Not to mention the lack of aerodynamics.

50-70? I believe him. It all about the gears ratio. Xb's 3rd gear is probably smaller than TC. the question is, how long does it take for the xb to go to 50mph?.

Yeah, my 95 rolla is faster too.

The answer to your question is FOOOOEEEEVVVVERRRRRR!! Car & Driver says it goes 50-70 in 8secs. They have the TC down as 50-70 in 9secs. hoooo...a whole sec. You need more than one source to make a claim though. It's not designed to go fast, so the gears are not going to be shorter than a TC overall. Besides, you don't only drive in 3rd, you got 1st-5th..lol. The vehicle is poop in stock form. So, a turbo is a must have, if you want to get up and go.

Don't get me wrong, I love all the scion models for what they bring to the table. The xB has the most unbelieveable head room I have ever seen. Felt like I stepped into a City bus on the inside, but looks like a mini car on the outside. But man, driving it around, I felt like I was going to be ran off the road.

They are right about 3rd gear in the xB. 3rd pulls harder than almost every other car ive ever driven. It pulls even harder than my Subaru 22B ever did even with turbo. I love accelerating in 3rd with my xB...

...You never showed up today man. you know I got that 06 Camo 5sp xB commin in. I dont know how long I can hold people off that thing. Its pretty hot!

Read it for yourself:

http://www.caranddriver.com/article....&page_number=4

That's for the xB, and for the tC:

Those of you having doubts, remember this is "Top Gear" acceleration, meaning for the tC you have to use 5th gear only. The tC is a dog in 5th gear!
