tC windshield replacement price?
Anybody have to replace the front windshield on their tC?
I am trying to find out how much I will have to shell out, but it is hard to get a quote from anyone.

I have a huge chip in mine and need to get it replaced but haven't gotten around to it yet. I don't know how much it will be but I have full glass coverage so I'm not too concerned at the moment.
I had mine replaced this past Thursday. A rock from a dump truck popped it and the heat inside the car from sitting in the sun made it run all the way to the dashboard, like a 14 inch crack.
I called around and no one could order an aftermarket windshield, so I ended up paying a windshield place to order one from Toyota and come put it on.
Total= 1,118.00 which I had to claim to the insurance, so I still payed my 500 deductible. For a windshield! What a joke.
If you're able to find an aftermarket piece of glass I should drive out and slap you

I had mine replaced a couple of weeks ago. I found a cheaper place that would do it for $850 with genuine Toyota windshield imported from japan. It is Asahi lamisafe brand. Most other places wanted to charge around $1100.
So shop around. But if you go with aftermarket non-OEM glass, you should be able to replace it for around $450. I even found a place that would do aftermarket for $185. But it seemed a bit shady.
Make sure it is installed properly. I did some research and the windshield plays a major part in preventing the roof from caving in during rollovers. Do a Google search and you'll see.
Good luck!

I got mine replaced with Toyota OEM glass for $410.
the brand is PPG. PPG and Pilkington Glass make OEM glass for Toyotas which are built in the US. It's just happens that Scions are assembled in Japan so they use Asahi instead.
it's possible that these 'aftermarket' ones are stronger anyways. I'm glad i found this cuz the dealership wanted like $1200 and that's ridiculous.
