Default The tC worth modding?

ahaha this isnt a "bagging on tc's" topic.. i was just curious. I'll only have this car for about another year and a half and i was wondering if it'd be worth modding. Did any of you have cars that you only kept for a while and still modded?

i wouldnt waste ur money.
maby something small here or there maby some lights maby some rims tint i wouldnt do much more. not getting into the turbos body kits lowerings it lowers the value of the car a lot. if ur lookin to sell it within a year keep it nicly waxed and clean so when u do sell it u can get ur moneys worth.

Wouldn't you be able to take out the parts that you threw on the car and just turn it back into stock, and sell the mod parts for money anyway?

EDIT: Oops. sorry i meant small mods like i/h/e and maybe springs or coilovers?

You would still be losing money... who would pay retail price for used parts?

plus, if you mess with i/h/e, you'll definitely void any manufacturer warranty left on the car you're selling back.

just keep it stock. there's no point in modding a non-keeper.

what?!?! no he wont!

if you get ot heavy into modding, even if you put it back to stock, there will still be something missing or out of place or not right with it. just give yourself a limit on how much you care to loose or waste. thats all your doing is wasting your money!

english, do you speak it? you contradicted yourself and backed up my comment? whatever, if you want to waste money be my guest. try taking a car into the dealership to resell even with stock parts back on. im just sayin, IF his car has any warranty left, itll be void if he modifies anything (even if he returns to stock).

Wrong.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnuson-Moss_Warranty_Act

In case you've eaten too much sugar today and can't focus, the summary is "you warranty is not automatically nullified by modifications. The dealer must prove that the modification caused the problem before they can refuse to do warranty work".

i started to mod my car, and it became a chain reaction. I eventually gutted it and sold all the stock pieces i replaced for more parts, so i'm stuck with my car for awhile, which i don't mind at all :D

How can you drive it stock? My personality won't let me do that.

I started with a stock tc, the same as EVERYONE elses that bought theirs. I hated being the same, so my quest was to set it apart.

It might have similar mods to other people on the site, but my car is pretty unique to my part of town and I haven't seen another tc that looks as different from stock than mine around my local area. At car shows sure, but just cruising... never

as a few others said, that'll be a negative. Unless they can prove that his engine blew because of his exhaust sytem or intake, the warranty is still intact.

But to the OP, i say at least drop it. Even though it's a small mostly visual mod, it'll not only make the car like 100x better, it'll give you more feedback from the street, making driving it a little more fun. unless of course you want a lexus/bimmer feel. then you just got the wrong car.
