Thinking about a new car again - tC
Okay here's the deal -
I want to buy new car.
Drove a tC loved it.
However....
What are you guys running in the 1/4?
I'm on top of the aftermarket for just about EVERY car, so I don't need that information.
I want to see what you guys are running stock and slightly modifed to get an idea.
Thanks
Oh one more thing -
Have any of you had trouble buying a tC with just standard equipment?
I figure I should be able to get a tC under $20,000 out the door with interest.

I wanted to know what everyday people are getting out of them, Thank you.
I could prolly get more out of your Camaro than you could and I don't even like Chevy.

So mid 15's stock is reasonable... That's about what I expected. The car is alot heavier than I first though, but the torque of the larger engine pulls it alot better.
If the auto was using short slicks the short final drive ratio prolly helped the car more than the actual slick tread did.
Automatics and uncontrollable wheel spin are not common bedfellows....
If you want a a very nice looking car with a stylish and slighly luxurious looking interior with moderate performance for a great price then the tC is for you.
If you want a decent looking car with a good amount of power and a decent price, then a turbo neon(aka Dodge SRT-4) is for you.
If you want a real performance machine, then you can't go wrong with an old style true to form muscle car, OR a very expensive European import.
It's all about compromise basically. If you are looking at the best car for <20k out the door, then the tC is right up your alley. Plus it has tons of potential for future improvements thanks to the strong and reliable engine from the Camry.

Scion calls this "pure price," it really means no haggling. A dealer doesn't have to charge the exact price that's on the Scion web site, but they are required to charge every customer whatever price is posted in their dealership and on their own web site.
Apologies if you already know this.
I would prefer the tC and turbo charge it instead of buyin srt-4. Dogde vs Toyco. Toyco wins. And with the ZPI turbo kit you can do just the same as srt-4. And to add one more thing i'll have the tC for longer then the tC. + that srt-4 interior is really ugly. Back to the topic. if you want power you can always get a Wrx/STI or even better an EVO VIII.
