For those with 2006 tc's...
Hey there-
So I just got my tc about 2 1/2 weeks ago and I love it. Still only about 375 miles on it. But my question has to do with the aux jack inside of the arm rest.
My problem is: When I plug in the power adapter of my iPod into the cigarette lighter in the armrest I hear this buzzing noise when its playing through my stereo. Its a noticable "zzzzzzzz" noise underneath the music. If I remove the charger, the noise stops. Has anyone who doesn't have the iPod connectivity HU get this? Its annoying the ____ out of me.

all 06's come with the AUX input but only those who choose the ipod radio get the diff radio with the ipod jack in the center console
as for the buzzing you are hearing ... wierd.. not sure
that buzzing sound is atcually just a bit of cross talk on you audio line (headphone jack to aux port) from your power line (cig lighter to ipod). you are basicaly hearing the power line over the audio line. you can either get a sheilded audio line (much easier to find.) or a sheilded power line. radio shack should be able to help you.
another example of what happening to you is, you know how you hear a buzz when near high voltage power lines... same thing hear, its just on a scale so large that the cross talr travels through the air basically.
hope that helps.

^^^right. what you said
that little buzzing is enough to make me get the upgrade. plus, the upgrade is just neat. if i had a iPod, i would totally get the upgrade. I would rather use the HU to control the tracks than looking down away from the road.
but, i digress.
teksno is right about the buzzing.

so THAT's what that damn noise is!
...i have the stock HU as well, and i get that same buzzing noise if i hook up my DAP thru the AUX input, and plug in the 20V power source inside the armrest-thinga-majig. how much would a shielded audio line cost, because a 260 upgrade to the HU is kinda pricey... thanks for the input jcollins, and teksno
