Those of you running no plates in front plate states....
When I had my 07 tC I never had the plate mounted on the front, the holes were never drilled in. I've had police never take a second look to check on it. Even the time I got pulled over by a state trooper did he step no further than my driver door. The 07 tC was in my possession from May 07-May 09 which was then traded in for my 09 RS5. I finally put on the plate on the bumper last month because the dealer that had my RS5 drills the holes into the bumpers of all the cars they get. I just couldn't stand the sight of it so I mounted the front plate with an adjustable bracket from Autozone, which sadly started to get a bit of rust on the adjustment screws, and the plate mount screws.
Cost me under $10 at Autozone

when i got my new lip kit i never ran front plate and live in illinois and driven to ohio, chicago, missouri, ect.... and no issues (half the time front bumper was covred in blue tape or plate was in window sometimes so that mightve helped?
california is probably the worst. i have gotten 3 tickets in the DUI check points for no front plate. i also got one in Los Angeles. the cop was going to opposite way and pulled a U turn to pull me over for no front plate. i got a ticket also.
Not worth the risk/hassle for me, I just leave it on and not worry while driving that every cop I see might pull me over.
I'm in Rockwall when I'm home, and Denton for school. I've been lucky so far, especially considering a State Trooper lives down my street, lol.
You can have it there but you'll either get a warning or a ticket if you get that cop having a bad day. My friends do this all the time and get ____ed when they get pulled over because the cop said it wasnt visible and must be on the bumper.

ive got mine in my windshield, in texas the motor vehicle laws state it has to be visible from front of vehicle never says anything about bumper mount, i dont get harrased too much abut it though
I'm in brazoria texas and I've been pulled over twice, state troopers of course, I had mine in the right corner of my dash and that said it wasn't visible and to put it in the center of my dash and that was ok.
Where in Texas are you? If you are in the D/FW Metroplex...Keller, Westlake, Northlake and any state trooper with eyeballs will pull you over.
My cousin was driving his Teg down I-20 going to Alabama and a trooper on the FAR opposite shoulder on the OTHER side of the highway crosses the EB lanes, median and the WB lanes just to nab him....these guys are class acts.

after the 2nd time i got pulled over for the no front license plate both were warning then i got a ticket when i was parked. so hadto put it on. thanks L.A. parking enforcement.
ive seen some people put it on the passenger sunvisor and flip the visor down..
Yeah I don't just got it sitting up there, I got suction cups in the 4 holes on the license plate to keep it in place.

I was pulled over once for "not stopping" at a stop sign. They mentioned the no front plate and I just told them that the car wasn't drilled for it and didn't have any brackets for it. I was in Dallas. Now I'm in Indiana and I hope it's fine without the front plate.
