Default Thumping / Pop noise under the dash

My 07 TC make a large pop/thumping noise when driving over bumps. Sounds like it's coming from under the instrument cluster. It's driving me insane!!! Anyone having this problem.

I can't find any posts on this. I have a feeling I'm alone on this one

Well from reading your prevoius post about the loose steering wheel cover... you said that the dealership replaced the entire steering wheel assembly. If something isn't seated correctly, thats what could be making that noise.

Check to see if you're bolts are tightened up. I had this same problem after installing new springs. So yea, if you just recently installed new springs that could be the problem. Under the hood, there's two circular rubber caps on the drivers side, and on the passenger side. pop it out, and tighten the bolts.

I once heard rattling from under my dash when I started up my engine. Turns out that they installed the alarm siren along the firewall instead of off to the side by the battery. Once they rearranged its location, it stopped the rattling, but I doubt that this is your situation.

my 06 tC has the same rattle/squeak everytime i hit a bump, it seems like it is coming from an area by the passenger side towards the windshield, it's driving me crazy.

any ideas except go to the dealer until they replace everything?

Yep, That's when it started. I know it's probably due to the cold. It mainly happens on larger bumps in the road. It's almost like a thump/cracking noise. Not sure, I might rip the dash apart myself. I already started banging on the dash trying to find it. What makes me uneasy is it's an 07 with 3500 miles. It shouldn't be like this and at this poiint I don't think the dealer is working according to my interests. The dealers in the Detroit area are clueless.

mine started when the temperature starting getting down there, i am going to call the dealership to see if they have any ideas on the problem but i plan on tearing down the dash to find it, i'll keep you informed if i find anything that works.

How about if you add a little 1/4 or 1/2" thick foam tape on the sides (towards the top) of the glove box, and then close the glove box, see if that removes the noises you're hearing. I've had that and it's how i stopped the noise.

or try this.. just drive with the glove box open, and see if the noise goes away, even easier! that's how i found the noise!

My noise is mostly coming from the driver side to center of dash. It almost like something of dead weight droping. I'm wondering if it's a taped wired harness or something? I might stop by the dealer this week. If not, I will be tearing it down when we get a little warmer weather.

I've noticed as well that sometimes my passenger seat will squeak front and back when I hit a bump. it's a high pitched squeak.

same problem here, started when the weather got cold.
At first I thought it was the windshield wiper knocking against the windshield but that wasn't it. It sounds like it's coming from the dash on the passenger side...like there's a loose bolt or something.....of course when I thought about calling the dealer today the sound disappeared....if it continues I'll be taking it to the dealer
