im new to this site but anywyas, when i drive over a bump in like parkin lots the speed bumps....sumthin in my trunk makes a thumpin noise...i think its a spare tire but how do u fix it??? is sumthing wrong??

 

It's probably the hatch, sadly, it's a known problem that some tC's have rattles. Some in the moonroof, some in the dash, others in the hatch. Bring it back to the dealer and complain about it, they may be able to find a problem and fix it.

 

Make sure the monkey is not loose in your trunk and making the racket.

no the hatch wouldn't make a thump noice its definitely the subs or spare tire b/c my hatch is fine and does it when i go over speed bumps...

 

first off, ne suspension work???
second, alot of ppl think their moonroof is makin the rattling, when we at my dealer have found its acutally the sunshades that r the cause....

but ive got many rattles, but ive taken my car apart some many times, i kno wut its from....doesn't realy bother me, had a chevy that had strut problems, so im used to it

 

I noticed when i was installing my underglow that the exaust pipe is hung on a rubber thing that allows it to move up and down with the car. If you go over a bump too fast the exaust tip will bounce and hit the bottom of your bumper. I heard the same thing so just take the bumps a bit slower.

 

yes, the rubber things or hangers allows the exhaust to move an dnot be stiff and crack if u hit a bump too hard....it shouldn't hit ur bumper, haven't heard of that till now

it does however hit the heatshield though....

 

My trunk thumps all the time but for me its because of the 12's
