ticket for front license plate
So im parked at my community college school lot. I come back and see a ticket on my window, so i double check that my parking pass is in the window, and it is. I check the ticket and the guy wrote me up for not having a front license plate, but the thing is, I have it in my front window on the dash, passenger side. The plate is clearly in sight, not hidden away or anything. I thought that would get me out of it. Somebody tell me thats messed up... do I just go to a police station and get them to sign it off?

Anyway, up to you but the only place the plate can be is on the front bumper. No windows etc.
Anyway, best of luck to you!
I had one about 1 month ago that I received in Pasadena. It was like $25 to pay or reduced to $10 if it was corrected. I just paid the $25 and considered it my "not having a front plate" tax.
Having the lisc plate in your window DOES NOT constitute having a front lisc plate. Your plate must be mounted to your front bumper in accordance with federal regulations (unless your state does not have front plates)
Sorry but you have no room to complain. The plate in the window is not legal. You will get pulled over again or ticketed again for it, and if your pulled over the cop will probibally give you a fix it ticket to go along with it to say that youve been told to put it on correctly.

i'm a little confused, did the security give you a ticket or the police, if its the security I would fight it, what right do they have to give you a ticket for it..
If its the police, put your plate on take a pic show it to the judge and hope they drop it i hate the front plate, so I eliminated it from my car too, illegal or not its ugly, and its a 'fix-it' ticket

i used to have my plate on the window but my dad said "wut if you do a sudden stop or get in an accident and the plate comes straight for your passenger's neck or head?"
yikers. hahaha mortal combat baby..

I thought you had to be on a street driving your car to get pulled over for no front plate? I got pulled over and the cop gave me a no front plate ticket instead of speeding. $50 in IL for no front plate!!!!
Don't know about CA, but in NY, if you have the plate in your window and not attached to the front of your car somewhere, it called "Improperly displayed plate."
You have to have it attached to the car in the exterior of the car, otherwise it pretty much defeats the purpose of having a front plate.

And those of you not wanting to drill into your bumper can probably just make your own bracket to mount it from the lower grille. Someone around here sells one and you can sometimes find them on eBay too.
My poor bumper, on the other hand, was drilled into by the dealer when I bought it. Oh well though. Not like I'm going to take it off all the time and see the holes there. My front plate really isn't going anywhere.
sorry to hear about it man, but yeah they can totally bust you on that cause they can call it an "obstruction of view" or soemthing. imo its stupid, the whole law it self is stupid, but esp. in so cal i always wear my plates, in norcal its not tooo bad. i dont have any holes i just use zip ties to the bottom grill with padding on the back so it wont hit my bumper.
also about having it in the window, yeah thats why i took it off in my other car. i didnt want my passenger to get sliced just incase something were to happen.

my bumper is all fckd up from the dealer...there are the holes for the mount, and circles from the screws for the plates. LAME! Then, the mounting screws are so messed up, they don't even work any more.
