I've been pulled over twice in my life:

First: 23 in a 20 (School zone)
Result: Stiff Warning from County Sherriff

Second: Expired inspection (missed it by 2 days)
Result: Asked to get out of the car, then verbal lashing

The inspection thing irritated me - a car passed by while the officer was talking to me and smoke was coming out of their tailpipe. It was an OLD Crown Vic. I drive an '02 Tacoma with no performance modifications, and everything on my car is 100% street legal. Arg... Rules are rules...

Agreed. I was wrong to be late on my inspection, I'll gladly admit that and take the penalty. However, my truck has lower emissions from the factory than a Suburban or Expedition, so I should hardly be a concern.

If I was driving an old, unmaintained car with smoke flying out the back, I deserved to be pulled over. I am not making fun of old cars - I love classic autos - but I hate people who drive ancient vehicles and don't maintain them.

You easily could have beat that rap! Unless you have scandeless cops & judges in OH-HI-OH! In Cali, you can go over the limit by 5MPH on the streets and 10MPH on the Freeway. Stay away from cop's wives and you won't get lame tickets!

I'd say fight it as well. If it was laser, you could get off easily. I've even been told by a friend's dad (a policeman in Austin) that if a cop isn't holding the radar gun still, fluctuations of 0-5 mph are possible.

yea well the 61 in a 60 was on 271, at the brainard road exit, (first mayfield/lyndhurst exit)
and the 36 in a 35 was in from of microcenter on som.

another note.
i fought that 61 in a 60
it just ended up getting me no lincence 60 days, and laywer costs and whatnot.

thats is why i didnt fight the 36 in 35

How the heck do they justify taking away your license for going 1mph over?

I'm calling BS on this one until I see an actual ticket. GlitterBoy and ScionCop (I think that's his SN) can back me up on this: there is no judge in the world who would convict for 1mph over UNLESS you were a dick to the officer or the judge. 1mph is way too far within the ranges of error for both speedometer and radar.
