in the faq the tint numbers are:
front sun roof 24.6%
center sun roof 20.8%
rear sun roof 24.6%
windshield 78.5%
front door 74.4%
quarter glass 77.6%
back door 75.4%

i'm confused as to what they're referring.
- is the rear sun roof the hatchback glass?
- or is the 'back door' the hatchback?
- if the back door is the hatchback then what's with the 3 sun roofs?
- what's the 'quarter glass'?

one other question for those who got tinting done - does it look good on the hatchback with the black border and stripes near the roof?

 

Ive seen some numbers on the Tint %ages, but not those?

 

I would take that as the front sunroof being the wind deflector, the center is the one that moves, and the rear is the back seat panorama. Backdoor would be the hatch glass.

that's just how i'd interpret it though

 

err the tC and the xA are the scions that dont come with any tint.... ive seen 80 on a tC and its darker than factory.... the xB is the only one with factory tint and you can tell that is around 50-60%

The tC does have factory tint. If you add tint to a window that is tinted already it will be darker.

 

i got my titnts with the dealer at the same time i bought my car. they put 20% all around...dark enough in my opinion.

I kinda realized this the other day when I was counting how many "windows" I have on my car. I counted 9, gf only counted 8. Windshield, 2 side windows, 2 quarter windows, rear hatch window, the moveable sunroof, rear seat panoramic sunroof, and the wind deflector. That said, I think its something like this:

center sun roof dark gray tempered 96.8% 20.8% - moveable sunroof
rear sun roof dark gray tempered 95.3% 24.6% - rear passenger's panoramic sunroof
windshield green laminated 100% 78.5% - Duh, windshield
front door green tempered & uv cut 90.3% 74.4% - yea .. the doors
quarter glass green tempered & uv cut 84.8% 77.6% - quarter panel
back door green tempered & uv cut 90.0% 75.4% - Hatch window

The quarter panel is the small triangular glass that your backseat passengers get to see the world through. I learned all about this stupid peice of window when mine was broken no a previous ride... they cost a pretty little penny to replace
