TIPS for driving in snow
i usually approach turns in 2nd of very low 3rd, then put it in nuetral right before the turn. One hand on the steering wheel and one on the e-brake. Just in case the front tires start sliding im ready to pull the e-brake and straighten things out.
It really sucks goind from RWD to FWD in the winter, i def. miss it.

i almost lost it twice last night, the biggest thing i would say is DONT PANIC WHEN SLIDING. i was going down hills and in first and went into a dead slid, and my brakes are almost gone so the ABS was point less annd i almost went into a creek bed.
them main thing is dont panic thats all i could really tell you

The best piece of advice I've gotten about driving in snow is if you DO start to slide the wrong direction in a turn.. Push the clutch. It will make the car go straight again. But if you're auto. Sorry. Only advice for autos is shoulda boughten a stick

I miss FWD. Everybody thinks AWD is this godsend for handling and winter weather. It really isn't. You still fishtail like a RWD car, you just have the front wheels to pull you straight, which when you're sliding doesn't help much. You have to purposely pull the ebrake to rotate a Scion.

Our BMW was one of the worst cars I've ever driven in the snow and that was RWD, even with traction and stability control turned on, the thing would slide all over the place (all season tires). And our Jeep Grand Cherokee is pretty bad in the snow too, it's pretty easy to get it to slide sideways. FWD honestly is the worst tho, because I'd rather spin around than go straight and not be able to turn or stop. High HP, low TQ RWD with nubby tires = best possible combination for snow...AKA, an ATV.
