tire pressure indicator
Can someone explain to me how the thing works? Where is the sensor? When I did tire rotation it gave me false alarm. When I changed the rims and put new winter tires it gives me false alarm almost daily. Any comments?
It isn't an actual pressure sensor. It senses wheel rotation. In theory, a punctured tire rotates faster than the other tires. The sensors can get confused if you make changes without resetting them. According to the manual, you're supposed to drive around for an hour after hitting the reset button. It's an OK system, but has it's flaws.

Mine comes on sometimes and is ALWAYS right... I carry a good tire pressure guage and one of my tires is always off a bit when it comes on...
I have all my tires at 41 PSI and it works well for me...
I'd check to make sure all your pressures are IDENTICAL, as that's usually the cause...

Anyone try filling the tires with Nitrogen instead of regular air? It's supposed to keep the pressure constant and it won't leak like regular air since the molecules are bigger.
It's worked great for me - I've had two tires that picked up nails on seperate occasions and it's always came on. They were slow leaks and they always would come on when the tire pressure went low.
