Default Tire Pressure Monitor - how often does yours come on?

Okay, I've had my tC for a little over a month now and I've already aired up the tires twice due to low pressure readings. Both times, it was the same tire and it was real low...like 13 psi. All the other tires remain consistent.

I filled the tire up this past Friday and the light came on yesterday, Tuesday (but after 400+ miles of driving). Does this seem a little too quick? Should I worry of something faulty or is this normal? Remember, it's the same tire that keeps doing this.

My only other guess is the one tire has a pinhole.

Should I be expecting to air up every time I fill up for gas?

If the tire is actually going down, you need to have it loooked at. Take to the dealer to check for leaks. You should NOT have to fill it up that often... ever.

^ werd.

If its the same tire, then you have a leak. Bring it to a tire place and have them put it in the bathtub.... they'll find the leak quickly.

The good news is, if its that small, it can be sealed quickly and cheaply.

My light has NEVER come on even when my tire was a little low. Some people have the problem and some don't. If you have to refill your tire that often definately take it to the dealer or prob just a tire shop and have them fix it. Low tire pressure is the number one reason for blow outs. That would really suck!

As for topics related to the low pressure indicator:

My TPS light has never come on since I got my tC in May. I made sure that I set the system once every couple of weeks as a maintenance thing with my car.
Your problem sounds like a slow leak of some sort that could range from a bad tire valve, which could be easiliy replaced, to a hidden nail puncture to at worst, a flaw with your rim (Porous casting). Take it to a Tire center. Those guys would ususally look at your tire for free and not even charge you if it's just a bad valve instert that needs replacement.

I know what you mean. I threw on some motegi 19's with 30 series tires reset the tire pressure settings according to my owner's manual and it still came on until I put my stock rims back on!!! Everytime I would park it and reset it it would come on every 15 or 20 miles!!! The tires were aired up to the specs so i don't know what the problem was.

You have a nail. Check your tire.

My light came on three times and I filled up three times. I finally got off my ___ to take off the damn tire and found a nail. 13psi should indicate that.

Thanks, I'll have it checked out this weekend by a tire shop or dealer. There's definitely something not right...

Word, there was glass in the tire.

Dealer removed tire, checked, found glass, removed glass, patched up, and reinstalled for $20.00.

Good job! at least you pay attention to your warning lights! Not like some people running around with a flat tire or no oil for days!
