Too bright HIDs in my 2008 stock projector headlight housing

I just put some 5000K hids on my car and just replaced the bulbs and that's it. I've come to the conclusion that they are very bright and are blinding to other drivers. The reason why I bought HIDs was because I heard that the projector housing in the 2008 models don't have too much glare and it shouldn't be a problem putting HIDs in them. Apparently, they were wrong, because they are very bright and give a lot of glare.
I did a test in my friends car, and they are pretty bright when I drove past my car. Also, when you look in my friends side view mirror, it's just very very bright.
What can I do to fix this problem? I want to keep my HIDs

Is there instructions on how to do that anywhere? I've been looking up stuff and it says something about a cutoff or something so that it can eliminate glare from other drivers.
You got glare when you drove past your car in a friends car correct? Well if the car has a dirty windshield(any window) then you will get a bad glare, especially if the inside is dirty. I need to clean mine, def the inside, and I get glare off of halogens lol. Unless you have everyone flashing high beams at you I wouldn't worry about adjusting down. I want to adjust my passenger headlight up some as my driver's side as a bit higher.

To be honest with you on the cleaning products I have no idea. I just might have to clean the windshield more often as it gets a layer of whatever the heck builds up on there and makes the glare get bad. I need to stop being lazy and clean the windows more than twice a month lol, might have to make it a weekly thing at least or twice weekly.

It's because your headlights were designed for halogen bulbs, not HIDs.

i have seriously been flashed maybe 4 times since i have had my HIDs and all of those came after i installed my APTs with yellow bulbs so i think it was more because of them. Just aim them down more, there is an adjustment screw on the back of them.

i get glare from any headlight HID or halogen from any kinda car. driving slammed FTL. but ya adjust your headlamps correctly and it should eliminate a lot of the glare.

Lower your car and you will no longer be 'blinding' anyone.
I have 8000k HIDs in my projection and 3000k HIDs in my OEM fog lights. They are blinding, I like it that way. I lowered my car and they are no longer blinding, I don't like this. I may readjust them higher after I adjust my coilovers some.
