Default Top speeds

Ok, I would like to know if any of you are on Myspace and have seen the Scion page. There is a forum on there that talks about the top speed that people have gone in their tCs. It started as a simple question about what the top speed was and then of course, others chime in saying how they went faster with no mods or even with mods, they broke speeds that sound completely rediculous.

One guy said that he hit 176. I am not sure if that's even possible with a turbo setup but whatever. Then, there's others saying that they hit 133, 135,...it just keeps going.

I would like to know, from anyone in here, what the top speed is for your tC. Mine is 127 and the pedal is floored. Is there something differenet with the 07s from the 05-06 model that Scion didn't mention? Has anyone broken the 127 mark with just bolt ons? Some of these people claim they have and I am just laughing at them.

If you are on myspace, search for Scion and when you get on, read the forum page that says "Top Speed." You'll get a laugh if anything from this.

127 is the limit, anyone saying anything more is LIEing, or has used the emanage to get rid of the revlimiter.

Yeah, I figured they were lying and/or just didn't know what the hell they were talking about. The guy running up to 176 said that he got the Turbonetics turbo. I asked what else, and I got no response. No chance b/c he still drives it around on the streets. Complete head/internal swap/timing/and a sh*t load more and maybe, but not likely for street use.

You could have 4 million HP on a tC and it will NOT go 176 mph. The gearing will not allow it to. You would need either a 13,000 RPM redline or a complete final drive swap.

I have a video on here in my Porsche doing 170MPH. That took me deep into redline with and I was geared out.

as nick said, even with the speed limiter removed, the tC's gearing only allows it to go up to ~135ish. if you've ever hit the speed limiter, take a quick glance at your tachometer. you're going to be pushing like 5900 rpms. with the rev limiter kicking in at 6250, you've only got another ~300 rpms before you hit it.

Yeah. I agree with all of you and just can't believe that some people are just this stupid. I guess it's all for show, but they are showing everyone who knows anything about this car that they know absolutely nothing.

There is another forum where a supercharger is claiming 295 whp and 310 tq. And a turbo claiming 11.15 1/4 time.

People post stuff thinking no one will know the truth.

Maybe the guy with the S/C wanted to fit in and thought that the S/C got the same numbers as the stage 1 turbo. haha

haha, that could be what they're doing. Reading the wrong tag. That's just at 127 mph I believe, exactly. I know that 160 kph is 100 mph so 180 kph sounds about right for 127ish mph..................that is hilarious if they are reading the wrong dial
hahahahaha
