Default TOTALLED TC!

My '05 TC was totalled yesterday in a car accident. Apparently, I'm alive thank you GOD

Now, I'm debating on getting the following:

Nissan 350z (the 2 seats is a drawback for me though)
Scion TC (wish the supercharger was standard )
Bentley (with a built in jacuzzi and sauna)

Anyway, I really feel the need to get a new '06 TC, however this time I will spice it up unlike my last which I did nothing but blue lights and tinted windows.

Supercharger: local dealer offered this intalled for estimate $3500
Is this good? What tips do you have on this to get a great rate?
Is it worth it for that price and only 40 horses?

Wheels / Tires:
What's the best place to get these from? I want quality chrome rims, large (20") and wide (sorry, do not know measurements on the width portion)

My brother has a G35 Infiniiti '05 with hot rims / tires 20", but not sure the model/make. I will ask him later. He ordered them from ebay if I remember, $2k total

Thanks for the heads up.

If you think the super charge from TRD is not worth it, what do you recommend? I would like to spend about $2k installed (give or take a few hundred) and at least gain 40 - 60 horses. I'm disturbed that standard only comes with 160hp, pretty lame.

Also, the standard shift sucks. Any suggestions on a smoother, less jerky stick system?

Note: I have no time right now to search all this info, pardon me but my car is totalled and I need a car asap.

get a new tC

once a scion owners... always a scion owner

the supercharger really bumps the car up about 50whp, and 65bhp.

You can really buy nice rims on many websites, just make sure you know what rims you want. Tirerack.com lets you view rims on your car before you buy them.

If you can really afford the whole upkeep of the Z, then i say go for it. Its a faster car, with a much harsher ride, that requires premium fuel, but then again, so does a SC tC.

If you are going to spend anywhere near 25k for the tC, i suggest getting the Z

Mumm... interesting, you just total your tC and now you are thinking about a pimp ride instead of .... how to spend your life? Haa j/k

Not sure about tC with SC unless you don't mind the gas price and increase insurance rate.

SC'd tC all the way.. I'd so stay away from 20" wheels though.... You're not driving a SUV. 18's or 19's will fill it up nicely, and you'll still have some tire underneath.

$3500 installed is a good price. Insurance won't care if you're Supercharged.

i have 18" on my '06 and they look small... i think 19s or 20s would fill out the wheel wells better... SC Tc is also the way to go in my opinion

This is your 1st post and its about totalling an '05 tC? You said you need a car ASAP, but did you know you won't be getting any (if any at all) money from the insurance peeps FOR QUITE A WHILE?! Sounds fishy but good luck with whatever you "puchase" and glad to see you're alright...?

I've been with my insurance company for over 10 years, they deliver payment in a matter of a week.

So, anyone have any quality tires/wheels websites to suggest? What properly fits on the SC anyway?

From my stock dyno to now with just a pulley & header I am at 95 whp over stock. Without the pulley & header I would be at about 65-70 whp over stock. Whoever told you the sc gives 40 hp is a retard.

New oem style..? Have not seen it. I am happy with the car right now. She is as quiet as she was stock for the most part. Only a little tiny growl upon WOT. Total sleeper.

The hell they won't. When you wreck your next tC, they aren't going to cover the cost of something they don't know about. They might even consider a modification that signifigantly increases your horsepower as a factor that changes your propensity to file a claim (and therefore affect what they would charge you). They could even go so far as to sue you for insurance fraud (since you changed a factor that they would use in calculating risk without informing them). I'm not saying it's right, nor am I saying that it's likely - just that it's something to think about. For the record, I've never notified my carrier of mods I have made to any car I have owned. But to outright dismiss what your insurance company would think about a supercharger(!) on the car they just replaced for a customer is naive.

On the subject of insurance (to the OP), if you total a vehicle, your priorites should be on driving carefully. "More horsepower" should not be on the list.
