Default Trading in for tC

Hi all, I've just recently purchased an 07 Honda Civic in May (MRSP $17,500), without any knowledge of the Scion tC. It wasn't until weeks after that the tC caught my attention. I wished I've known it was made by Toyota before purchasing the Civic. now after 3 months, I've decided that I MUST have the tC. The problem is that I won't be able to afford to trade in for another 6 months+.

Will new 2007 tC models still be on dealer lots in the summer of 08? and how much do you think the trade in would go? considering both 07 Civic/tC's MRSP price are about the same.

Civic are nice car too, you will likely to get more MPG out of the civic.
unless you got money to burn. keep the civic.

I don't think they will have new 07 tc in summer of 08.
I got my 06 tc in July of 05, And i didn't even know until on the day of pick up.

I think you have a case of buyers remorse. Trying to trade in something that new wont get you whats it's worth. If you really feel the need to get rid of it you'll have to sell it outright yourself.
Civic's a nice car though, I'd keep what you have.

It never caught your eye? There's like a million of these things running around, well atleast around here anyway. Like others have stated though, unfortunately your not going to get what your expecting for a trade in out of the car That's just how dealerships are. Civics can be awesome cars as well, both in looks and performance, its just the ricey ones that irritate us :D And the civic will give you more mpg which is good considering gas prices right now...

Very doubtful the 07's will be around. You probally should keep the civic from a pratical point of view.

Before you decide to trade-in your civic, test drive a used tC first (if you know someone who owns) to see if you really like the tC.

I say keep your civic man!

Maybe where she is at there are rarely any tC's and/or she didn't know Toyota had made them like she said...

You will be losing money though if you do decide to take that route...I mean we can sit here and tell you all day, keep the civic, it has better MPG etc. And all that is very true, the Civic is a GREAT car...great MPG...great reliability. It's a very economical car.

But, if you MUST have the tC and if it is what you're going to, than none of us can stop you.

Summer of 08 there will probably no new 07's in the lot...as a matter of fact the new 09 models might even be out at that time...

guess I'm gonna have to suck it up & drive the civic for a year or two. kinda disappointing since I won't get my hands on a new 07 instead it'll be an 08/09. I REALLY do not like the tail lights on the 08 tCs, I prefer the 07's. =/

I'm sure by that time, you will be able to get the '07 - '06 tails for the newer models. It happened with the Civics with the factory clear tails too....I knew people that couldn't stand that look and found older model tails to put in.

civic is a very nice car. I don't know. I think you're trying to base your purchase just on looks. you should really test drive a tC first before you figure out what to do.

you'll be losing a lot of money if you do decide to trade.

Surprise surprise, an 18 year old who made a decision too quickly and regrets it. I think I've seen this one before...

Unfortunately, I don't think that trading in your basically brand new car for another brand new car is a decision you're going to be glad you made. Financially, it's probably a terrible decision to make. And considering the fact that you don't seem to have ever test driven a tc before deciding that you MUST have it, I don't think you've put enough thought into it. A car is just a car. It's just a thing. Try putting some money into an education or savings for christ's sake. I know that he (or she) who dies with the most toys wins, but give me a break. Show a little responsibility.
