I'm not saying or implying that you don't know crap about music, just that maybe you don't appreciate good music when you hear it.

go there, and learn about the history of the music and even some samples. I find ishkur to be snide and sarcastic... but accurate on most accounts..
oh, and house > *
Back when I started spinning, I tried trance and realized it was schlock and got into house and dnb for a bit more challenge.
Seems to me every trance dj's M.O. is "LOOOOK AT ME IM THE TRANCE DJ!! BEST EVAR IN TEHWORLD!!!11one1!!" with their hands in the air as if the sweeping breakdown going on that's sending the wannabee candy kids that are speakerfreakin oblivion was their own doing... and not the producer of the record in the first place. For fekks sake, your hands weren't even on the mixer homie! *ack* sorry that slipped out ;)

"Its 9:30 in the morning, Mr Tenaglia has just done a 25min encore of Grace jone's live vocals Looped over the loudest tribal Bass club vinyl has ever heard! The crowd is screaming for more, The lights Go black, The crowd Keeps chanting "Danny Danny danny" 5 minutes of total darkness. A Slow Hiss comes from the corner of the room, The 6 Hubert St Venue is Vastly filling up with smoke, the chants get louder and louder, 800 people are screaming for more. A slow Low Beat Builds from one of the Tower's of speaker's, Switching from side to side, The crowd grows louder, A single Red Beam is shot onto the disco Ball, Silence....... The Crowd slowly starts to clap to a beat that pounds in everyone's head.. Still Silent... a Familiar voice Growls over the Bass Heavy System, " No need to be shady. Just FIERCE" The crowd goes ____ing insane, And danny drops the beat, its now 10:00 am And he's just starting, Grace jones is in the back corner of the club, smoking a ___. The Diva's are doing runway in the back room, and the jersey kids have this expression of Pure shock on there face.. The beats pound away, Theres a line around the corner. And everyone knows There magic in the air."
Damn, I love me some of that old-school "___ diva vocal pop trance", lol. That stuff is nostalgic. Who cares if it isn't trendy or cool. If someone wants to get up to Sandstorm, so be it.
Labels are for children. Like in kindergarten, when the teacher labelled everything so you knew the difference between a "desk" and a "chair".

Sorry guys, but trying to judge which music is "so not..." whatever is gayer than any type of music there is
Seriously, we all have our own tastes.. and many artists of any type of music have talent to share and use. I love a huge range of music (atmosphere, alice n chains, disturbed, doors, gorillaz, stevie ray... on and on and on) and find that I like parts of more genres every day. I think learning and instrument and playing in a band or two teaches that a lot.... but I digress... it is a matter of opinion, so it is not something you can argue very well, or at all really, not intelligently.
As for the sound I have found that for every type of music I listen to it sounds best with the sub gain (adjustable using the **** behind the speaker grille) on about 3/4, SSP set to Feel and the car mode set to xA. Most likely building an enclosure and adding amps and subs next year.. so that will all change.. but that is what I use with the OEM setup.

and enough with the "knowing a lot about music". That doesnt mean anything at all. You feel music, you enjoy it, some write and create it (the best feeling of all). Trying to "teach" someone what to listen to is just showing that you are missnig the point. Reccomend, share.. but you dont teach personal preference.
