I should clarify my opinion perhaps in all this crap.

A trance producer is a fine thing indeed if they're good... a trance dj however... will never and should never become popular. If you do not produce, you will not be a tiesto, a pvd, or a avb... I've seen every huge trance dj and I like them... but not for their dj'ing, for their production of tracks that they in turn spin. I like every kind of music, trance included, but watching a trance DJ who didnt make the tracks hes spinning is about as dull and pretentious as it gets. There are a SELECT few who do not produce and mix well enough to earn some respect though... just a few.

I have been listening to "trance" for like 10 years, I lump house/etc into that category. Almost all I listen to these days is the a state of trance armin van buuren sets. Other then that its jungle/dnb hehe. In my opinion it doesnt get much better then AVB, especially the tracks he produces himself.

Tiesto is the lamest form of electronic u can listen to, its like Really cheesey..
Yes Tiesto is cheesy... But he gets the hands up, a lot of 'Trance' DJs forgot what trance was, Trance was music that made you feel good, gave you energy, and made you dance...

Progressive House has gotten to the point that its too repetitive, and too basic...

Trance was cool when you waited for the peak in the music, when it got so high that your ears wanted to burst, then there would be a brake down, and you would have a chance to catch your breath before the next peak.

I can remember when, last year at Ultra Music Festival, I danced the full two hours of DJ Craz's set. He pulled out all the old school trance (Like Beach ball) and added some new beats. Now dancing to that song, on some sand (close to the water wall in the back there is a small patch of sand) as the sun set behind you...

Just remember what trance was about, you will see where Tiesto is coming from.

i can take the heat, i just think trance music is commercialized garage That is consumed by the same MAss of people who buy a "Kelly Osborne" CD or a nelly CD

its just Garbage, compared to alot of producer's whos talents are much more underground and true to what house music is about...

to each there own, like i said maybe im a spoiled NY'er,

Ha! Just cause the mass's buy your ____ doesnt mean you have talent, All those dj's listed sold out, and play commercial music.. Its all good PR.marketing, and un-educated YOUNG people who have never been Exposed to OTher sound's. Because the state's are 20years behind what some of the outher country's are doing, look at Berlin, And then look at the LA scene.

This doesnt have to turn into a ____ing contest kid,s

We have diff taste's

some of u like k-mart, some of you like Chanel. hah

: )

^^ I dont have a problem with personal opinion, only when it is thrown out to bash others opinion. And to tell you the truth, I dont like trance in general(some of it is ok.. just not my thing)... I do like Crystal Method and some of those groups, but like I said, I have varying tastes and like parts of most genres (Still cant get into country though ). Sorry to be so harsh on you, but as I said, I dont like people bashing others tastes.. especially when it comes to music.

And to answer your previous question, I play guitar and drums (although I havent played drums in quite some time).

So, now that the arguing is all over.. everyone have a beer

wow, interesting thread.

Xa/feel works best for just about any style of music. I personally listen to acoustic, indie, so on. (ie Elliott Smith, Okay, The Wrens)

Everybody has their own meaning of what music is, and how it should be. Just keep an open mind no matter what your peers listen to. Its not your car, your not listening to it personal, so who cares? Just my 02 cents.

[quote="Syxxpac"]Yea then it was definitely Exit that I saw him at. I remember Earth now!!! That place was humungous!!! Good times! It is a shame that both Exit and Sound Factory closed. Exit even re-opened as Exit 2 for a little while.
quote]

Yea! i remember when it became Exit2, haha Then it Became "BLACK" What a odd name for a club thats mostly white suburban kids in manhattan> lol?

Apparently its sitting Empty now, i never liked Exit, untill Jr went there, But its sad its sitting empty now, i was there once, and i remember one of the dj;s that night, maybe it was Carl ***? Telling the Crowd there were 10,000 people There.
it was so packed, and that place had like 4 floor's and everytime i went there, We would find a new big secret room, Place was Huge. hahha

*sigh*

You people REALLY need to just chill. That... and stfu. All of you. I'm sorry, but ragging on this and that and this person likes this and should like that... WHO CARES?

How hard is this:
"hey, that stuff isn't so great, check out these guys ...."

Instead its:
"omg, rofl, i can't believe you listen to that crap. what a loser. get out of the 90s. the 60s sucked. big bird wears diapers"

Come on... show some community, don't be jerks. I don't care who has been doing what for how many years or has worked where for who in what city. When you're here, all of that means nothing if you're an a$$hole.
