TRD S/C oil help
i have used the search button and most of the threads i find are from N/A cars running synthetic. i want to know what kind of oil the S/C people run. i've been on Conventional Penzoil 5W-30 for about 10k but i've been considering switching to synthetic oil like castrol. can anyone tell me the pros and cons from switching from conventional to synthetic? also i've heard the rumor that the synthetics will leak over time through the block. and now that i have a S/C i'm afraid of it seeping through and cause me more problems.
only one, i had a leak coming out where the dip stick meets the engine, but that is easily fixed by replacing the o-ring seal. and blowing seals is usually from too much oil pressure.
seriously, there are no risks to running synthetic oils. they protect better, and don't break down like petroleum based oils do. they can also go longer between changes.
any leaking that would occur would be from a bad seal or gasket, not from the oil.
