Default TRD short shifter hard to shift

I toguht it was hard to shift because it wasnt borken in but its been a week and its still hard to shift. It actaully takes me longer to shift than with the stock shifter. Is it suppose to take this long to loosen up?

If you put it in yourself, I would disassemble and check everything to make sure that nothing's out of place and binding up the linkage. No one has so far complained about the same trouble you are having with it.

Good Luck! I hope you get it to shift OK eventually, othewise, you can ship it to me. I always wanted a TRD short shifter for my tC, I just don't have the money for it.

i have the trd quickshifter, it definitely has more of a lick: or take a little more push than the stock one, but its in no way that hard to shift... somethings not right with your set up

If you want to try something for free then here’s a link. It truly does work however do this at your own risk.

Just installed the TRD shifter and I can already feel a difference, It was a pain in the ___ for me and my dad to do, but we triumphed in under 90 minutes. TRD sure knows how to make clear diagrams.

guys.. the way i see it.. any and all shorter throw shifters will require alittle more effort... since you are shortning the lever arm.... and from my expirience with the tc 5speed tranny... it is defenetly not the smoothest shifting tranny.. that has been my only reservation about going with a short throw shifter.. i have enough complaints about the tranny... i think if i installed one of these id get tired of it pretty fast..

A weighted shift **** will help make the shift feel much more smooth and solid. Check out this article from our site about the benefits of a weighted ****: http://www.twmperformance.com/column/heavymetal.html

Thanks,

How do you think the performance clutch Scion offers will add to the overall drive of the car?

I want a weighted shift ****, however down here in FL it's so hot that I know that a metal **** won't be pleasent to touch. Is there a leather/metal weighted shift **** out there or one you at TWM can maybe produce?
