I'd be the first one to laugh at someone who buys this POS.

hes not talking about the ebay scam of a chip. there are REAL unichips that let you program air fuel ratio and timing.

Yup, no tuners, not many success stories with Toyotas, personal experience.

I spent 3 months trying to get one to work. Went through 3 kits and days of dyno time. This was on a supercharged 1ZZ. Besides constant CELs, random shutdowns, blown fuses we got 2hp gain (or loss - depends on the time of the day). So I got stuck with a rental bill, screwed up car (the tuner managed to muck up my alarm) and a lot of wasted time and extra miles on my Matrix.

No, the tuner was not a complete moron - he has his own racing team and is very professional, Jack, the chief of Unichip North America, recommended me this tuner. Plus problems that we had did not have anything to do with the tune - the unit did not work from the start.

I hear a lot of supercharged 03-UP Corolla's (1zzfe) are running the Unichip... I think it was the tuner.. as odd as it may sound..

I've heard about a vibe running a Unichip with SC, I also know a rolla that blew his engine with SC and Unichip.

Basically because of Jack's attitude I would not want to deal with Unichip. He promised he'll send his guy over to tune my car, then suddenly changed his mind. Then he said he'll reimburse the rental, then he changed his mind. Then it took me 2 months to get my money back for the stupid kit.

I'm just an unhappy customer that will now badmouth the product just because I did not have any luck with it

Yeah, this plus before Jack does R&D on fuel/timing maps and harness for a car that has that few units on the road it's going to be time to take your tC to the junkyard and buy a new car with anti-gravity suspension
