Default Update on my car

Dropped it off at the dealer this morning. They just called and said the seatbelt and rattle/panels are fixed. The new stereo door they got was broken, so they have to order another. They also had to order new pillars to replacing the bubbling ones. Hopefully the second round of parts doesn't take 7 weeks like the first time. Once I get a ride down there, I'll see if they did a decent job.

I also got my order from paintscratch.com to fix the chips I have in my rear bumper. I have no idea how they got there, as they are ontop of the rear bumper, and I can't really see rocks hitting that area, but I got the paintpen kit from them and I'll see how well it works.

Anyways, got the car back from the dealer. Nothing was fixed. Still rattles like hell. Now I have oil on my driver door, and back near the panels they messed with. Stereo door still doesn't work.

This car is a nightmare. Scion customer service/service is a complete joke.

Still? We never were. We are providing parts/turbo to a few companies that are doing kits.

I would be affraid to touch this car. It can't even hold together in stock form, let alone modified.

yeah nick.. might want to look into lemon laws if this keeps up..

i went to one dealer.. they sucked.. couldn't even do an alignment correctly.. 2nd dealer fixed it fine.. steering wheel straight.. i'd let them at least finish the job but think about another dealer in the future..

Have you tried a different dealer? Sounds like your current dealer's service department has absolutely no idea what they are doing.

I think you have all the problems of all the other cars combined. Talk about bad luck. Get your dealer to get the AREA Scion supervisor to stop by and see your car in person. Everybody has a boss so stop fooling around with your local dealer and have them set up an app't when the Scion supervisor is in the area.

Good luck.

The dealer I'm dealing with the the best dealer in the area for service. The other one I've heard nothing but horror stories about. My service advisor has been very polite but he can't fix the car.

Plus, the other dealer is 50 minutes away. At this rate though, I may have to take it there if this continues and take my chance.

Scion customer service once again said they would have the dealers customer service rep call me to fix my issues. Once again no call. They have one more attempt to fix the issues. After that I will have the issues fixed by a competent shop, and take scion to small claims court over the cost of fixing the car. This seems to be the only viable option to getting the car fixed since they can't uphold their warranty.

How long should someone have to wait to get warranty issues fixed before seeking alternative methods to getting them fixed? How many times do I have to wait for parts? How many calls do I have to make to Scion HQ in order to get something done?

My opinion is NOT to get fixed by outside shop and then go to small claims. It will take forever and cost you money and more precious time. Keep going up the line at your Scion dealer. Get to the owner who hopefully will have the Regional Scion supervisor stop by and actually see your tC in person and give you feedback.

Also I would get the name of the dealership owner and send "return receipt requested". You should also "cc" someone at Scion. I would if you went on the Scion "chat" (via scion.com) that one of the people (seems like Mia or Moe answer most of the chats) could give you the Scion name to write to......

Good luck.

Been talking to Amy at Scion. She is suppost to be taking care of me. All I can do now is wait another week, see what comes, then start complaining again.

They said its going to be a week for the new parts to come in. The ones they can actually get. Some of the parts are on indefinate backorder, so no ETA at all on when some issues can be fixed.

i will assume that oil on the door is basically an dirty spot from mechanic touching it? Bad service from the dealer I assume, but is it really that of an issue except for stupid dealer?

Dang dude that sucks. Seems like no matter what you try to do, your tC is just a pos. Good luck on getting it fixed right some day.

nick, IMHO you should stick with the dealer you've got. when you're dealing with parts on backorder it is a major mistake to start over with someone else, becuase you'll be doing just that...starting over. all the time you've waited so far will be wasted. get the car fixed from your dealer and, when it's all done to your satisfaction, then you can get some compensation. I know it sucks due, but don't start over. it'll just take that much longer.

It SHOULD be a shock. Your car shouldn't start to fall apart months after you purchase it. Contrary to popular belief, it really isn't hotter than hell here in Arizona. It's hot, don't get me wrong, but not hot enough to melt a car. I'd LIKE to think that they put these cars through extreme hot and cold conditions before selling them (who knows if that's really the case, though). I live in Phoenix, where it's even a few degrees warmer than in Tucson (where I believe Nick is). Nothing is wrong with my car. Unfortunately, Nick seems to have gotten a really bad apple. I hope things go better for him soon.

Can it honestly get any worse..? I totally feel your pain man... My old car was a definition pile of crap. Towards the end I almost claimed ownership on the rental car I was given I'd pick up my car, leave for 10 minutes, pull a U-Turn, drive it back to the dealer (the service department and I ended up pushing it a few times) and picked up my Malibu
