Default Using Sound Deadening Material in my car (so far)

I haven't had much time to do any sound deadening, which I bought over a month ago. I purchased 50 sq. ft of edead 1.0 and 100 sq ft. of the paint on edead 3.0.

However, I have school starting back up monday so I decided I would get a little bit done now. I have done the trunk/hatch area but have yet to do the side panels (as those require a lot more prep - I'd like to do all that once I have the interior torn out)

The only tip I can say to the next person who does the trunk is maybe cut squares around where the clips go down into the frame for for the foam peices. When you put two layers of 45mil like I did then you will affect the clipping power of the clips. I simply cut in to the hole and pushed the clip in. They clicked in and it's staying, but it may put less pressure on the peice (and less chance of it breaking) if you cut out around a bit so the pressure is more distributed from the center of the clip. Here's a pic:

Pretty clean install for being my first ever, it really is very easy. I didn't use any liquid based application because gravity is not an issue.

I also did the plastic side of the interior panels with some mat and some liquid. I have pics - but they aren't pretty. This stuff doesn't look too pretty with just a light coat .

When I do the other side of the door panels (hopefully in a few weeks) I'll be doing more prep work, taping everything down, etc. etc. Look forward to that guys.

By the way, I did notice a difference just from doing the trunk area. Less sound coming from the rear on the highway. I imagine all noise will be gone once I do around the wheel wells. I can't wait.

I can't help but recommend www.edesignaudio.com, their product is unmatched in value. Definatley check them out[/img]

Thanks - I have a sub, but no amp. I should have everything good to go by the end of spring break. Funny enough, I had to set my head unit to go back one more notch to have the same sort of "surround" sound that I had before deadening. Less sound bouncing around, but my issue is probably just placebo. However, right now there is not a big difference in sound, however when I'm on the highway going 80, a lot less noise coming from the rear. If you take a look at your rear, you will see at parts its just a 1 peice of metal seperating your interior from the road. This deadening makes a huge difference - even though I'm maybe 20% done. Worth every penny. I would imagine when all is said and done I'll have used all of my mat and sitll have another gallon (I bought two - each does 50 sq ft) of edead left. May do my dad's truck if he wants.

To clarify: I am not using a sub at the moment.
