Default Just installed TRD muffler

I just gotta say that I've had the JIC muffler and it was too loud for me (esp. the wife), but performance was really good at 3000rpm and up, so i sold it.

Just got my TRD muffler and I gotta say that it is perfect for me for the following reasons:
1. fit - perectly centered with the bumper cut out - there is a trick to install it, you gotta twist the muffler when tightening the clamp so that the tip stays centered.
2. sound - quiet at idle, not too loud when accelerating, at 70-80 mph sound is perfect
3. finish - stainless steel - good material and the tip looks really nice(but the JIC looks better!)
4. performance - noticible increase in torque and hp

IMO - highly recommendated, but some people did say that fitment was not that great and the sound was too loud.
my 2 cents,
dchan8

It's always nice to have someone gives a review/opinion on a product they installed. Can I call you Mr. TRD since you have TRD-springs,struts/shocks,exhaust?

Roger - we're friends, so call me anything you want. :D

I know a lot of people knock trd stuff cause of cost and how they just contract there parts out to someone else, but i've been having real good experience with there stuff.

Interesting. I have the stainless steel JIC Bullet exhaust installed on my bB with the silencer installed. It was way too annoying with no silencer. It's a little loud under 4K rpm when accelerating, but is completely quiet at 80mph on the freeway.

I really didn't notice any power increase...my bB is as slow as ever. Also, I have no intake or any other engine mods. I pretty much only bought the exhaust for looks and sound.

I personally think (from my experience) that the TRD you can fell a difference right away, gains in both torque and hp. With the JIC, i could tell there was a HP gain (and some sound  ), but I think it lost a little low end torque.

Yu don't think it gained some pick up from 60-90mph? I definetly felt it in both exhaust, but the 1000-3000 rpm noise with the JIC drove me (esp. wife) crazy.
