true, you can let it idle for about 10-20 secs and start driving

Depends on if its a piggyback or standalone, as far as how much control you have of course ^^

that's all i was saying, some people let their cars warm up for like 5 minutes then drive, i don't get it. it doesn't help.

yea, as opposed to open loop when it's using the maf/tps/map/everything else to moniter because those are better sensors to use in open loop..or wot.

lol

Lets assume, you don't turn on your car for a while. The majority of the oil will have drained to the oil pan.

Thus eliminating its main purpose, which is lubricating all the parts.

If you turn on the car, and immediately start driving like a maniac without letting the car warm up a little, you will inevitably be doing some damage. The clearance/tolerance are extremely minute.

So letting it warm up a minute or to, is a fair trade to keep your engine happy.

But to each his own.

haha he's just messing with ya.. 300hp self tuned?

yeah unless its extremely extremely cold no need to let it idle too long.. calm and easy driving until operating temp is way a better warm up than idle warm up... I've seen people on 40F tx winter than idles their car more than 10 mins thats just ridiculous

i have a manual with a remote start. I use it pretty much when it is cold and so the inside of the car can be warm. I got a buddy to install mine. Its a viper. but i dont leave my car in gear and he wired a safety that the car will not remote start unless the handbrake is engaged.

yea i mean obviously if you dont' drive it for a long time then yea let it idle but if you drive it daily, no need.

that's just common sense. we're talking about cold starts though, in cold weather t heres a reason oil has a higher viscosity than at higher tempuratures
