Recently the back hatch garnish started to pop out when I opened my liftgate. I took it into the dealership just to see if they could reattach it, but they said the clips were broken and ordered me a new one. My car's bumper to bumper warranty expired in Sept, yet they said it is still under warranty.

I'm happy to hear that its covered, but also wondering how the hell it could be under warranty. I work for Ford and we have problems getting real warranty claims sent through. Any ideas? I'm not going to bring it up to the service dept. at my dealership.

maybe toyota declared it a known issue, so they extended coverage for that particular part. either that or your dealership messed up and is going to eat the cost. either way, you lucked out.

mine does that too... i need to take it in. my car has 19K so i should still be under warranty.
