was wondering if theres a possible fix out there, other than "opening the hatch slowly"???

 

Nope... unless you want to add small lips to the outside of your whole hatch... it's just the water flowing of the edges of the wider part of the hatch to the narrower part of the body... minor design issue, patience is the only answer...
