Default weird tC i saw today

my friend just bought a 07 tC and when i saw it i knew something was already weird about it. First off her wheels werent the stock alloys, they were hubcaps! and another thing that was crazy was that it didnt have a sunroof? it was just a long window! A tC wiithout a sunroof? so is there different models for the tC now? thats some weird stuff man.... someone tell me wtf is goin here!

Here's some info about it that I pulled off the SL tC main page:

The Scion tC 'Spec Package' became available in the 2007 model year. This package was aimed at tuners that would be modifying or racing the car. The largest changes were a fixed glass roof instead of the power moonroof and sixteen-inch steel wheels with hubcaps instead of seventeen-inch aluminum wheels. Other changes include a unique seat material, deleted cruise control and steering wheel controls, removal of the engine immobilizer system, blacked out grill and headlight treatment, and only four color options: Super White, Flint Mica, Black Sand Pearl and Classic Silver Metallic. The price for the tC Spec is $15,000 for MT and $15,800 for AT, plus $540 delivery fees.

Its not lame. If your a tuner, why pay for something your gonna end up removing anyway. The Spec is a stripped down less expensive model for people who might want tune their car for the track.

Your friend should have read around and been better informed before jumping in head first and buying the first thing she saw and regretting it later.

i agree with that. if youre gonna slam on some aftermarket wheels and put in a nice sparco steering wheel and do some other goodies, why have all the bonuses you get with the non spec tc when youre just gonna get rid of them anyways. i say tc spec ftw

The idea was sound, the execution had more flaws than a $40 4 carat diamond.

Unfortunately the people buying these specs are not tuners, but people looking for a cheaper tC. Hubcaps on a tC make me sad.

the car should not have been even remotely comfortable to drive without at least $2000 spent on interior upgrades. that would have made it a tuner model. As it is, it's meerly a tC DX.
