Default What I dislike about Toyota cars.

The windshield vent forces you to use air from outside, doesn't let you use circulated air.

I especially hate it when I'm following a school bus and the fumes get sucked into the cabin. I need it to blow into my windshield so I can frickin see. However, I don't want to die of lung cancer.

I drove a Mitsubishi before and it let me circulate air blowing on the windshield.

actually, you can. keep pressing "mode" until you see the icon of the blower on the windshield and at your feet. you should be able to recirculate there.

It does that but the circulation light turns off and it opens the vent that sucks outside air in.

I believe that if you press recirc again it will go back into that mode. But honestly, the best way to defrost is running outside air and the ac compressor (Which is what it does). Running recirc is keeping all the moisture from you breathing and sweating inside the car, making it defrost slower.

You could try the DIY cabin air filter mod with a good filter. It can help with smells if it has a charcoal layer.
