Default What kind of switch is this for??? S-on / S-off

I took my tC in for its first oil change last week. The dealer did not reset the Maintenance Required light. I followed the steps in the manual to reset the light. Instead of performing the steps on teh Odometer, I did them on Trip A. After doing so, I saw the message "S - off". When I did it again, I saw it said "S - on". Does any one know what the heck just happened??? thanks.

The seatbelt alarm is B-On and B-Off plus the procedure for doing it requires putting on the seatbelt while holding the button down. Not sure about S-on though Do your needles still jump when you turn the car on?
