What is my tC worth?
Hello, my finacial situation is going down the drain real quick and i just cant afford my TC anymore. As much as this saddens me, my only option I feel is to sell the tC. How much could a private party or dealership give me for my car. Its an 2006 tC Flint Mica, 5spd, 8k miles, Eibach Lowering Springs. Everything else is stock. It has 1 scratch on the hatchback. I had put 5k down and payments are like 300/month. Please let me know what it is worth. Thanks.

If it helps, the Kelly blue book value is:
Private party sale - excellent condition $18,740
good condition $17,610
Dealer trade in value - excellent condition $16,875
good condition $15,810
I would guess yours is closer to the 'excellent' value, the scratch and possibly the lowering springs could hurt the value a tiny but, depending on who you're selling it to.

Hey thanks for all the replies. Yeah, was not the best choice to buy a new car while in college. Thought i could make enough but heell no! And then i gotta move to florida at the end of the year, Cha ching!! There is a local car lot that buy, sells, trades. He buys only the best cars he sees. Im hoping he could find me a 92-95 civic hatch or coupe and possibly just take over monthy payments. Im not sure how the whole used car market goes but let me know if this idea seems logical. Thanks!

Dont have a dealer take over payments, no matter what story they give you. Ask for somewhere between retail and wholesale values for your car on trade...something like $16,500 would be a very good starting point. Expect to get a little less than that if you are having the dealer pay off your loan and all. You will then have some cash leftover to put towards the next car if you put a $5k downpayment before.
