I use 89. It's the cheapest here.

how is 89 cheaper than 87?

 

your car only needs 87 octane unless it is boosted or running high compression pistons and tuned.

higher octane doesn't burn better, isn't better for your car, or better for your engine whatever. it is just a detonation resistence rating. if your engine doesn't need higher octane gas and isn't tuned to run on it, then you are just wasting money on it.

 

Not everywhere sells 87. So some places 89 is the cheapest. I know around here it goes 89,91,93

I think, or maybe I am wrong. i cant really recall right now. I use premium because of boost.
If not boosted use the lowest they have.

 

anyone tried running racing gas on an unmodded engine? does it still runs or does the compression doesnt get hot enough, thus equal seizure?
