well i'm glad to hear you keep your Toyota virtue extoling to it's respective boards. i prefer to get/give input on ALL brands and make an informed decision based on a combination of that information and my needs.

... and i'd agree with you about the FWD a couple of years ago; however after the mini cooper S (which i believe ran one of -if not THE- quickest slalom times ever) and the SRT-4, there is a good group of people that would include them as a "sport car" not just "sporty".
so for now we'll have to agree to disagree... nothing wrong with that.
Just to add support to your comment, the negative effect of FWD is weight distribution, i.e., the front end of the damn car doing most of the work. However, engineeing advances have created many vehicles (Mini Cooper S, Celica GT-S, Acuras' RSX, TSX, & 2004 TL come to mind) that have been recognized for exceptional handling, due to improved F/R weight distribution, and excellent suspension tuning. Unless one is either a sports car purist (in which case, one wouldn't be here anyway) or lives in a place where it never snows or hardly rains, those vehicles should keep one very happy on the streets. Each drivetrain has it's +'s and -'s; 4WD...great handling, but HEAVY, FWD good traction, but falls a little short of RWD sport, which in turn, falls a little short of FWD when the weather turns to ____e.
It's the fact that manufactures are finally realizing that there are a significant group of consumers that actually like to DRIVE their cars vs. being DRIVEN by their cars, that brings us to enjoy and intelligently debate their virtues. Prime example $30k Mitsu's and Subaru's (!) that SMOKE $200k plus penises on wheels. We have CHOICES now, ladies & gents...that in and of itself, is amazing.

And you can keep your Ferraris...Take that $275 K, and give me an Evo, an FX45, a TcSc, a healthy Down Payment on a condo, and I still have enough scratch left to take a year off and spend it partying my a$$ off while spending days tuning ALL my cars to run rings around most anything on the street. Gotta LOVE that.

and to join your convo here... I'd like to say that right now I drive a 98 Corolla and comparing my Coroll to a tC... wow...what a upgrade that will be... so unline cowboy, I dont want an ugly STI, or a SRT4... I want a tC... 200hp w/ SC is MORE than enough for me... that's it...

they are both great cars, but toyota has reliabilty. if i didn't get all my maintence services for free i would probably get a srt-4. i hate that people call it just a neon. it is completely different then the neon. the srt-4 will walk all over evo's and wrx's, so it is not just a neon.
srt-4 will not walk an evo. especially from a dig.
