Would your audio system cost almost as much as the s/c?

yes i would get the TRD s/c...

The audio system would be a bit cheaper than the s/c but not by much.

Get the S/C, Audio system can be bought in time, piece by piece. Much easier to save 500 bucks and buy a set of speakers, than to save 3500 bucks and buy a s/c.

the main thing i want to do is install an audio system with carputer, but i've been drooling over that s/c. so, i guess i'd be in the same shoes as you. especially considering i'd spend as much on either. but, the car's factory stereo is good to begin with. the engine does feel like it should have more power. but like jbae says, see if there's some problem with the oil leakage.

It could probably be only me, but that question kinda sounded like your wife giving you permission to go outside to play. Wife = Mommy

...but anyways, go for what you aspire to do...SuperCharger = Performance/lower gas mileage & Sound System = show off your sound.

I would not get the sound system. The biggest complaint most of the people have with the tC is that the engine doesnt make enough power. Everyone who DOESN'T have the TRD SC say that is underpowered, but little do they know what they are missing. Almost 50 whp is a BIG jump. Numbers on paper mean nothing. You will NOT be disappointed with the SC.

yea the warranty is awesome...i guess it all depends on how much power u really want...if 50 HP is what your lookin for..then what better of a deal is the TRD SC with a warranty....u gotz a tough decision

Default Turbo instead of Supercharger

I would go to turbonetics.com and buy the complete Scion TC turbo system. Forget a gain of only 40 hp when you can have a gain of 100 hp. Screw the audio system too as the TC already squeaks enough, so why rattle more screws loose and go deaf in the process.

I'd say go Audio.
I'd wait a bit for forced induction however... S/C is more power, but limited on upgrade potential.
Besides that, I'd rather rebuild the motor & add a Turbo instead of the S/C.
Reason why I say rebuild & Turbo over a S/C is because most people "I" know who've done that eventually want MORE power but are limited by what they've already spent their $$$$ on... On the same token people "I" know who've spent $$$$($) on a Turbo upgrade are their in danger of blowing their motor, already blown it, or haven't had the time/money to properly tune it to run @ its full potential. I'm not saying "every" F/I will result in this, I'm simply offering 411 on what "I" & friends of mine have dealt with.
The choice is urs, but Choose wisely.

No question IMO, get the supercharger. I have it and I love it. Big difference, warrant remains intact, sounds great, etc.

Impact to the way it drives is great, while the impact to fuel mileage is minimal. I hardly have a difference - 25mpg before, 23mpg after, and I drive hard with a mix of city/hwy.

So I repeat: SUPERCHARGER!!!
