Default what would you do in this accident

hey guys, had a bad night, but not as bad as that black TC in the other thread, finished up a concert headin out at a red light, car behind me hits me. like a 8 - 10mph hit. it looked like they jus didnt break and the idle automatic hit me at that speed, even though they claimed that they simply let go of the break and it hit me at a 5mph or less

so i stay calm, best thing to do at an accident. the owner girl gets outa the passenger side and starts giving me an attitude. first thing she says "oh its not bad, i dont see anything wrong" then my girl and her start yapping, i take down the license plate and stuff and examine my car, the guy driving her car gets out and walks over to the passengers seat

definately scratches, minor dents, and paint and buffing damage, but really not that serious of bump... and i really didnt care, but she was giving me a major attitude, and i am very quiet and humble guy, she says "its not a big deal, get over it, you wanna call the cops? go ahead, my dad is a city councelman, go ahead call the cops?, as far as we're concerned i was driving the car, him oh yea he has a permit" and abuncha other stuff i cant repeat here, i didnt say anything but "are you guys okey?"

honestly i woulda let it slide, especially cuz it was a girl, she drove a broken down 91 neon that had sheet metal spots the size of bowling ***** starting to show all over her car, but she was asking for it, so i called the cops. cops get there and do the usual accident report, but i didnt rat on the guy, cuz i dont think he had a license which the cop confirmed later, after i got the report i told the cop that it wasnt even her driving it was the guy, but i had no beef with the guy, so it didnt matter, cop was kinda upset at that, but it didnt matter, i got the report and he said i could go..

so really, if she had jus gotten out and asked if we were okey and apologized sincerely, i woulda been like wutever lets go.. but she gave me such an attitude u guys wouldnt believe, and also the guy driving didnt say a werd, if he had stepped up like man and said sorry i woulda been cool with that, instead he was bein all sneaky about it..

so while the cop was grillin the guy about whether or not he was driving, i pulled away and drove off... not 1/2 mile away, i was doin near 60mph when a deer ran in front of my car, i slammed on my brakes 60 down to 20mph in 1 second, real hard, missed the deer rear by about 1 meter, shook it off and drove to grab some food.. crazy stuff huh...

wut do u guys think u woulda done, let it go or call the cops?

I think you did the right thing. Some people need to learn when to shut up, and she sounds like one of them. It's sad that the driver had to suffer for it, but like you said, if she had just closed her mouth and maybe attempted to extend the slightest concern he would have been fine. Plus, now you can see if she'll put her money where her mouth is and manage to get out of a ticket through her "connections."

did the right thing, man. Usually I'd just call the cops, especially if they are giving you trouble.

Haha, man, u did the rite thing. If the party at fault is giving u such an attitude, then they deserve to pay for it fully. I've done the same thing ast them. I hit someone infront of me slowing down to bout 5mph, i guess i just didnt brake hard enuf. I hit the tow-extention ball. Overall, nothing happened to his car and my front bumper got a dent in it. But i got out and aplogized and i'm sure the elder(driver) saw that i was prob scared as ____ being that i've never been in an accident, lol. But he just said that everything was ok and left.

If the girl had some common sense she would be polite enough to watch her boyfriends back. Instead she set him and herself up for more worst thing come to them.

also, your bumper may start cracking in the future... just something to keep in mind. If you can, just get the bumper replaced under her insurance of course...

its good that you called the cops, then you know everything was seen by the officer for future use. Plus as Paul said, you never know whatll happen later on like a cracked bumper or something else happens so its good just to get the information and a officers report just to be on the safe side

I've had something similar to that happen, sept it was the guy's wife, he hit the department's tanker truck at 70 mph and totalled his truck, nearly put the engine in the bed to be exact, he was real polite, then his wife shut up, cops got there, threatened her, she left, came back, they arrested her for harrassment of an officer, and we got $1900 for the damage to the tanker truck, took five minutes to fix

What kinds guy lets his girl mouth off to someone HE just rear ended??? He should have made her stay in the car and be quiet while he handled the situation. Now he can thank her for messing up a license he doesn't even have yet. LMAO
