Why do people hate Scions so much. I hear stupid ____ all the time. Like I play on Absolute Poker and my sn has "Scion" in it and when I'm at a table with other ppl.
The first thing they say is like "Scion tC are for girls" "you drive a girl's car" "cool fast and furious car buddy" "nice car homo" and other stupid weak ____.

I don't think THAT many people hate Scions... most people I talk to love them (yes, even outside of SL). You're probably just playing poker with a bunch of Mustang driving douchebags or something.

 

The people that say that probably drive Hondas.

 

this is just my thought... but i think the reason others hate is because they need a benchmark to compare themselves to. (i.e. make them feel macho/better etc.), just ignore them. dont allow them to have the pleasure of knowing they get to you since it might just be a psycho babble tactic to throw you off your game.

Prolly beacuse those people are either a) jealous because the car is actually pretty nice and they don't have one, or b) jealous because they paid way too much for thier "cool" car.

Yeah, they're envious because they drive a POS and probably haven't gotten laid. EVER.

Drive on and be proud! My buddies used to give me chit when my tC was stock.
Now, they give me mad props for having a clean ride.

 

I have yet to hear any hate towards tC. count my self lucky I guess. I'd hate to see people hate on my car. *smack*

I have friends that drive Hondas/Acuras and they all love my car! So be proud!!

 

hmm.... I do realize there is hate for the tC as a car, but not as much as the hate towards tC drivers............ and unfortunately, sometimes I dislike some of them myself.....

 

I noticed that many people in my area that dislike Scions drive Hondas. A lot of people i know don't like Scions because they know someone that drives one and the driver acts retarded,
doesn't drive the car like a responsible person. So i guess this gives us all a bad rep. in my area, this only applies to tC's. lol. Almost all xB drivers here are cool and lay low.

 

In this type of situation, it's really their issue, not a problem for you unless you agree with what they're saying.

I was on the freeway earlier and a guy in a last gen Eclipse nodded @ me.

It might be because there are some owners that drive around their Scions thinking they're hot $hit (namely ricers, and there will always be ricers for any type of car) and this doesn't produce a very good reputation for the rest of us.
I guess another reason why is that our cars are slow (for the most part) and people still mod them. I actually think like that and do it anyway, why mod a slow econobox? I don't see the point, but I do it anyway and love it!

yeah, ive never had anyone hate on the tC... Ive had people call it purple but thats only a color thing. Never have I heard the brand referred to as a girls car. Ill have other tuners/ricers/whatever nod at me.. Its basically the douche bags that drive the gas guzzling v8's that hate on us. but they hate anything that is 4 cylinder and has the capability to go as fast as their ride.

I havent experienced any hate towards tC's at all. Only from camaro and mustang drivers on the internet, nothing ion the real world.

 

Look, we drive relatively small Japanese cars.

Of course people are going to "hate" on us. Lots of people are ignorant - and the only way they feel good is by trying to tear down other people.

Seven liters and eight cylinders is cool and all... but why are we a "girl" for buying a car that better matches our daily driving needs? Why isn't CHOICE and DIVERSITY allowed? Why do you feel so threatened by that?

Those are the questions those people should answer..

If we REALLY want to go there, I can start calling the Camaro and Mustang a "girl" car... but *I'm* not so stupid to declare a car a "girl" car just because I see a lot of girls driving it, or a lot of "girly" versions. So what? Drive whatever the hell you want - just respect other people's rides.

 

My friends in HS called my Camaro a "girl" car... But I thought that was because of all the chicks that rode with me.
