I think a lot of people use the Ingalls Stiffy or something like that.

Do these really help that much? Just curious.

engine dampers are just band aids.
think of it as covering the problem isntead of fixing it.

the stock motor mounts suck, so ppl buy sitffys to absorb some of the engine movement.

just go straight to the problem and replace the motor mounts with the energy suspension ones that dezod sells.

I know nothing about changing motor mounts...is this hard to do? Could the average joe do it in his garage?

its a little time consuming but by no means extremely difficult, you just take the old ones out and pop the new ones in, so really the hardest parts is just getting to them and getting them out.

yes sir, thats the one.

you wont need a TD also, the motor mounts make a world of diff. alone.

Another dumb question. Do these give more HP for the engine. I know that the keep the engine from moving, but what does that get you in the long run.

mmmm ok. but u sure i dont need a td? cause my motor mounts are really bad due to my engine dieing from having no oil and it basically dried up inside the engine and i had to get another engine through the store insurance that did my oil change and messed it up. lol

i need to pick up these motor mount bushings yellowxhoodie is talking about, I personally have the Ingalls Torque Damper and I do love it. It did make a difference, but of course I still have traction problems like crazy. I wish they made a whole new set of motor mounts instead of just the bushings, any extra traction I could get would be awesome.

Here's the link to the motor mount bushings and torque damper

KRider, no they dont give you more power, but they do allow more power to be transfered to the wheels rather than lost through the rockin of the engine. you know, all that kinetic energy bullisht they teach you in school...lol.

Handsoff, i dont see how having no motor in you oil would mess up the motor mounts, they are on the outside, so they are in no way lubricrated by your engine oil, although you should lube them up when you install the new ones.

dodaddy, im still trying to figure that out, because on dezods site it says they are inserts, meaning that they just fill the holes that are in the stock mounts, but the weird thing is that i was sent whole replacements...

and to everyone, the only real downside to motor mounts is that you will have slightly more vibration at low RPMs (mainly when accelerating from stop lights/signs)

hope that answered everyone Q's.

I was gonna get the motor mounts and still may but my good friends hooked me up with the Weapon-R ETD and it makes a world of difference. I have heard the whole band aid thign and it may be but it works hands down. Now i am sure the motor mount bushings from energy suspension that dezod sells work and maybe even better from what i have heard but i like my ETD and for now its doing thee job fine. We will see how things go when i am turboed which will hopefully be by the end of 09. I shoudl have the kit this summer just gettign everything i want and need and installed and tuned. Yikes maybe 2010 it will be done LOL. I just need new wheels the stockies are just so boring now. and its gonna cut into my turbo fund.

Eh, stiffer motor mounts or an ETD, either one fixes the problem their supposed to - excessive engine movement. A band-aid would be a temporary fix, the ETD is permanent.

Heres what sold me. The ETD took me 20mins to install by myself. The motor mount bushings will take you a couple of hours minimum, alot of headaches and at least one person to help you.

Either way the vibrations do suck, especially when you have to stop-go alot. For me, multiple speed bumps. If you don't rev the car up past 1 or 1.5grand when slipping the clutch the car shutters like your stalling it for a second or two.

so the ETD is not a band-aid and it works good? i dont wanna deal with hours of installation for the bushings... does the ETD shake like the energysuspension bushings?

soon!!!!! haha

but yeah if they sent the whole motor mount replacement that would be sick.

i don't really mind the stiffness since my car vibrates and is really loud already. Full stiffness on coilovers :D
